Contacted LR and they confirmed that my car which has a factory fitted DVD system with rear screens (but didn't come with headphones) is not infra-red......so its back to bits of string and baked bean tins then!

Following on from this - is there any third party units that could be used as cordless headphones. I guess by using the socket in the door and the 12v power socket. (All these dam wires!) 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

Only Wire headphones can be used ( except when you buy the dealer fit roof mount dvd unit )

I have checked with LR and your door mounted sockets will only work with wired headsets = 3.5mm jack and look for headsets with an immpedence of 32 OHMS
