This is nearly £6000 off new price in one year - only lost £3000 in 3 years on our last FL1 and if I sold RRS now would probably lose £12000 over 3 years - I thought depreciation was bad on LR's

You tend to find especially with minis that they are more desirable with a host of extra's such as chilli pack, xenon headlights, leather heated seats etc etc, although yours looks very nice it is very much a base spec which is why it hasn't sold yet, but it will you just need the right buyer to come a long. You also find in the mini circles that people want more for less, or they are prepared to buy an older mini with a much higher spec. Well thats what ive found over the years owning minis in the past. Hang on in there it will sell.

I agree with you Ady, I just bought the Mrs a cooper s convertible with everything on it.........I got a 2011 rather than get a new one with less on it or not a cooper s etc.

Basic

Adaptive Xenons and TPMS are standard on a One and it has over £3000 of extras with the Pepper Pack, etc which should help

Last year I missed a 1 year old for £14k and a 2 year old for £12k with less spec and more miles

TBH muddy i think you paid way over the odds for your mini, i would of held out for one with more spec rather than buy new. But you really need to know your onions when looking at the spec's of minis . Just about everything on a mini is an extra and its knowing which extras to chose to make sure you get a return on your motor. A lot of the "extras" on your motor are such things i would barter on and expect for free when buying new. But the bubble has now burst on the second hand mini market aswel as just about every other secondhand car market. I'm not sure who told you the tail about coopers being a harder ride but they were telling you porkies its the runflat tytes that cause the harsh ride or sports suspension which are both optional at extra cost anyway. I think the sales guy needed to get rid of some stock they had llaying around when you visited your dealer and he sucked you in.

Ady - I did get some discount despite everyone telling me there are no discounts on new minis and compared to the used ones I missed it seemed like a good deal
