Irony lost on you? I am (ironically) suggesting those who say "if you want a real V8, get a 5.0 SC" are in the same group as those who think a RRS isn't a real RR, or a Boxster isn't a real Porsche. ============

Except of course, there's no denying the TDV8 is bigger, and better, than the TDV6? ============

The range rover sport will always be a range rover, because land rover designed it as such...

The oil burner will never be a real v8...in terms of the sound, kudos, power and inspiration a petrol v8 has.

As for tdv8 v tdv6 the tdv6 is everything the tdv8 is and more...it's been deleted from the sport because its a relic in its current form and the tdv6 does it and is better.

The uk has always been good at getting more from less...more isn't always more Mike

I know, I've had an RS4 avant, a petrol V8 Mr. Green

The sport was bought for reasons other than sound and power Mr. Green Laughing

Goodness me!
When I joined this forum recently, it was a breath of fresh air, as I didn't think any of this business went on!
Other forums I have been on everybody just makes the case for the variant they have and how it is the best!!!
This one seemed different with a mutual appreciation for each other's choices! I guess I was wrong.
Of course people will chose what they think is best, that's why I chose the TDV8, but the next man will be over the moon with the TDV6. Horses for courses. They're all great whichever variant is chosen.

so, you chose not to get a "fake" V8 (??) and got a "fake" V6 instead?

in what way? The 2.7 TDV6 is Rolling with laughter the 3.0 TDV6 is better but still Laughing and the 3.0 SDV6 is close but no cigar

the 3.6 TDV8 was deleted for one reason and one reason alone - EU emissions. The 4.4 TDV8 from the FF apparently couldn't fit in the Sport (something I find very hard to believe). Lo and behold the new RRS due next year is getting a TDV8.

Have to agree with what mse said. I fail to see where the old v8 is any better. Oh yes it has a better sound. The v6 pulls away faster is smoother and more economical. All this v8 is best is just internet myth.
More exagerated by rrsboy than most i might add! SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.
