2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Santorini Black

Need your help deciding. Petrol or Diesel.

Ok guys. Help me with this one.
Getting a Range Rover. Supercharged or Diesel?
I willl be used for many things. Towing my car, driving and so on.
How is the MPG on the new supercharged compared to the V8?
Is the diesel better for towing?
How is the reliability on both of them?
I have heard that diesel engines are not that cheap to maintain.
I will be planning on keeping it for a long time. 91 BMW 850CSI

My 2.7 TDV6 averages about 20mpg around town and 30-32 mpg on a long run. Although I do have a slightly heavy foot. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography

TDV8 about 16mpg when driven as it should be, can get to 28mpg at 77 on the motorway

pretty much what he said
I had a tdv8 hse for 60k miles and it ran through rush hour traffic in the morning and err faster runs home average mpg was 26.2 to 26.8 -ish

Why by a V8 anything and worry about fuel consumption?

Deisel has more torque so will be better for towing, Petrol has more hp so better for playing

In that case, use your mums motor for a test bed for the petrol version, then take a extended test drive in a 3.6 TDV8 Then do the same in a supercharged version. If you have shares in shell or you like the girl behind the counter then i'd go supercharged, because you will be visiting her often. The best compromise would be the 3.6 TDV8. Good allround package.

I have been thinking about the TDV8. I have just been reading horror stories with that engine.
By cars are usually workhorses. Towing stuff and being abused on the road since I like to put the pedal to the metal.
Also I would be using it to tow my e31.

Very nice but, how the hell do you get that on a trailer without taking the bumpers off The TDV8 isn't anymore unrealiable than any other, they made the TDV8 right upto 2010 which will still have a warranty, so no worries just yet.

The car is on coilovers so I can alwasy raise it if I want, but either way the trailer I own is a low profile one. 91 BMW 850CSI
