Easy to fit (and crucially remove) and allows one to drop the seats with it in place which can be useful. Also, the load cover is still fully useable. They do a divider partition too so you can split the boot in two and have one bit for the dog and one bit for luggage.  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Personally I don't like the idea of a cage for a dog in the back of a car. I understand about a dog guard, but would always worry in case of an accident that they couldn't get out.

But for kids.......

I wouldnt bother...waste of time and absolute hassle, adding 0 value.

Plus the dog guards dont stop the dog doing any sort of damage - like chewing the seat belts. Teach the dog to enjoy the back and they will be fine.

We have two collies and i wouldnt dream of caging them in the back or having a cage fixed in position. Mike

I've just got ours from a company called hamstercage made to measure & non rattle and with an escape hatch on the back just in case. Wouldn't fancy a loose dog hitting me from behind in an accident.  Now gone Orkney grey SDV6 HSE with body style kit contrast stitch ebony leather, privacy, black piano, 22" Lowenharts for summer, 20" with Leon LTZ for winter.
Here 110 black edition defender.

Ok then try and keep two young excited springers in the boot of your car without any sort of restraint ie guard or cage, see how long before they are over the top scratching your leather and on your lap, even worse when muck up Haven't seen the Hammond thing but the dogs are happy and certainly more secure so that's where they're staying,each to the own. Cheaper than a crate and more flexible - if we visited family he used to go in it at night for bed too

Have you had a look at lintran dog boxes?,I have recently bought a ex display db11 from them at quite a large markdown their service was 1st class and the box is made from white fibreglass with anti rattle lockable doors,so fairly light for the size although that model might be a bit big for just 1. Works well when WATCHED
