2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Cairns Blue

Had my front D bushes done on my LR3 by maim stealer (Lancasters) when i had the (gulp) cam belt service done. Wasnt too much cash for THAT part of the service.....

Has anyone bothered with poly bushes as a replacement?many point? Does it ruin the ride?

My Supercharged Sport (owned for 2 days) has a slight knock ( I just LOvE how all of my Landy's have endeared themselves to me in similar ways!!!!). I will probably do both bushes and ball joints on the front whilst im at it and start my timer to see how long they all last!! I also Censored suspect that I may need a new front bearing hub assy too as when I back off the power (after a long drive), i can hear a bit of a whirrrrrr and feel it slightly.

Personal view is poly bush kits destroy a car unless its going to be used on smooth Tarmac, ie a circuit or track. You need a certain level of flex for gyometry to work and not make the ride harsh on normal roads. Think we have to accept that every other year are going to need to replace rubbers, ball joints and drop links if want clonk free driving. It seems that Land Rover has sent some communication to VOSA as mot inspectors expect to see some play in bottom ball joints. This is a "design" feature and not sign of wear. All sounds a bit like Audi in 2001 saying that bending alloy wheels on RS4's was a safety feature until after replacing 9 sets changed story to roads where I live are cause of wheel failures. Rolling Eyes Whistle 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 SE Orkney Grey

I fitted polybushes to the front ARB they were a complete waste of time, very noisy and still loads of clonking on rough roads! Have since fitted the upgraded LR part and have had no problem, also fitted genuine to the rear ARB and it is now silent... Thumbs Up

There seems to be some inconsistency though reading the forum when some get them replaced under warranty and others get told it is a characteristic Sad

Folks it would be great if we could start listing :

1) Fault (bushes/suspension/anti-roll bar related)
2) Age of Car and approx mileage
3) Type of Warranty you have (Approved/Select/3rd Party)
4) Finally dealership that went ahead and carried work out under warranty OR as the case maybe REFUSED the work ! Evil or Very Mad

Think the above would return some interesting results and give us all solid data & ammuntion when putting our cases forward if we were affected.

Since the Land Rover Servicing schedule does not list any suspension bushes, anti-roll bars or other suspension components etc these are obviously designed to be maintenance free for the life of the vehicle (8years ish).

So if these really were items an owner should expect to "wear" then LR should show the mileage and/or time for their replacement; as they do for the 3.0TDV6 timing belts at 105,000 mile or 7 years

Thus any failure inside that time is a premature failure and a warranty claim i.e. not-fit-for-purpose. Obviously as the age and mileage increases to say 70,000 miles or 6/7 years you might not 100% of the claim.
