Thanks guys, I realy appreciate your quick response.

Is there a better one than Vredestain Wintrac 4 Xtreme? Like Vredestain WINTRAC NEXTREME SUV XL; Continental CROSSCONTACT WINTER; Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow; etc. etc.

Very Happy

Hi guys,
I'm new to the site and need some advice on winter tyres for my 2006 RRS 2.7?

The tyre currently are 255 50R19 and I note from others larger sizes are being used, which I presume are on the same wheels? And what costs?

Any feedback please would be appreciated.

Thanks.

@AJS7
The larger tyres are on larger wheels (20 inch wheels rather than your 19 inch wheels).

The Vredestein Wintracs are available in the 255/50/19 size you currently run. I have these on mine - well, I will once I get them put back on in the next week or so.

As for prices, you need to look around. There is a site sponsor who might be able to give you a decent price. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

While Vredestein wintrac 4 extreme tyres are good in winter, I have used them so know their good and bad points. I am not convinced they are the best choice as no review I've found puts them first in comparative tests. One review marks them and Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 tyres like this. (V for vredestein and G for Goodyear)

Dry grip V=85 G=86
Wet grip V=90 G=92
Feedback V=84 G=88
Progressiveness V=77 G=80
Wear V=80 G=92
Comfort V=87 G=90
Buy again V=96 G=97

My point is how many who are happy with their choice of winter tyres have tried alternative makes before claiming lots of pros and no Cons, without stating what others they are comparing them with.

Probably not many because like me, if i'm happy with a tyre choice then why change Question Unless someone you know that you really trust has used another make and highly recommendes them.
