bushes

Hi,

I have a 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 with land rover approved extended warranty. The rear bushes have started wearing and cause a knock when I go over a bump, are these covered by the warranty?

Thanks in advance

Not in my experience, I purchased a warranty from my local franchised dealer when I had a 57 TDV8 at a cost of £895, the front bushes started knocking, sent it in on warranty and low and behold suspension rubbers are not covered, Big Cry what a big waste of money that warranty was. Now I've bought a TDV8 from a franchised dealer to get there approved used warranty which covers everything. Thumbs Up 10 TDV8 Santorini

I have had bushes replaced under warranty.

I also had the rear anti-roll bar replaced under warranty. Be worth checking for leaks from this unit as it also makes a knocking sound when it fails. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Absolutely agree. I had the lot done on mine under warranty, twice on my first RRS(2007) and once on my
current RRS. The current one was done over a year ago and so far no more issues Thumbs Up Oh..... why did I go and say that!!..... Banging Head We all know what's going to happen now, don't we? Rolling Eyes Whistle 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Thought I had stumbled on the wrong site for a minute there Whistle

Seriously though for the last 2 years on 2nd and 3rd service I have complained about the knocking suspension but dealer has refused to do anything claiming it is a "characteristic" Banging Head

Muddywheels, Have you contacted LR Customer Service? Your dealer is talking cr Censored p. Don't let him away with it! If needs be then take it to another dealer. All dealers need to get warranty work pre-approved by LR so, if it was a "characteristic" then how come many RRS owners, such as me, have had the work done under warranty, which LR must have authorised? Name and shame if your dealer refuses. It's worth fighting for it (I didn't have to as I am lucky to have a great dealer) it transformers the driving experience of the car. Once fixed you won't believe you had put up with the fault for so long! 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Dont get me started on LRCS or my previous Dealer after the year I've had with both Rolling Eyes

Going to another dealer next month for MOT before OEM warranty expires so going to raise the issue with them and see if they are any better Bow down Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

The Approved Warranty is run by an insurance company (Care Care Plan I think) and the dealer has to get everything approved by them first. They've approved front ARB bushes on mine (and others it seems) so there's no reason yours shouldn't be approved too. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

In a perfect world Whistle

There seems to be some inconsistency though reading the forum when some get them replaced under warranty and others get told it is a characteristic Sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Think a lot depends on how the dealer approaches it. Mine had 27 ball joints and 5 sets of bushes in first year, got sold the characteristic bull by land rover, my answer was not acceptable on 60 grand car. Eventually after two years a modified roll bar mounting was fitted which has resolved the clonk but not eliminated the ball joint failures. Changing from Contis to Pirrelli also helped too.
Sit on your dealers head and get it sorted!!! 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
