Is this a good deal?

http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classif...005/823625

Hi guys, looking at this? What do you think? Does anyone know the car? I'm looking at around £15k for it.
Thanks

Preston-rr, I'm no expert but for what its worth, I paid not too much more than that a year ago for my S/C with 48k miles, - also a private buy, and it was advertised for a bit more still Wink

If you're a cash buyer, I'd try your £15k ....and see what reaction you get. If its already been reduced you might find you're the only bidder. Also, the description says "4.4L" .. If it is a S/C, it will be a 4.2 - check to be sure.

If its right for you and mean't to be, I'm sure you'll love the S/C - a great buy IMO if you don't have a high annual mileage.

Good luck. Carl

Buy?

Thanks. I noticed that. Il push him on it if I take it further. I only do about 7k a year so the mileage isn't a problem but I want one with as low miles as possible obviously. I can never seem to find S/C with low miles for around the £15k mark?
Are you saying you saying you think it's a bit expensive?
Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it.
Mark

You could try your luck @15k but i doubt he'd let it go so cheap. Its either a typo error or he doesn't know what he's selling because LR didn't make a 4.4 supercharge Wink it was a 4.2.

..a touch expensive IMO but if it checks out cleanly as a genuine 1 owner car, its still a huge amount of car for the money..if it were me and I liked it on inspection, I'd probably offer the £15k but be prepared to go to nearer £16k. The recent service and new air compressor is good - the air suspension compressor is something I replaced on mine a few months ago - around £450 I think so worth factoring that in..........

7000 miles annually makes the S/C one for serious consideration...

Cheers. Carl

Some facts are right, others wrong. Pictures show supercharged so it's a 4.2 as indicated on the right hand side, not a 4.4.
On the right hand side, it also shows Acceleration: 0 to 62 in 8.2, thought it was 7.2 for the S/C 4.2. Maybe a typo Confused

Price is probably roundabout right, the right buyer at the right time might pay that, if you're prepared to let it go why not try your luck, he/she can only refuse and then you can either walk or offer closer to his price.

Just asked

Thanks again. Just asked the question ref the engine size. Will update soon.
How much would it cost to add HST front and rear bumpers, and 22" alloys?
Cheers for the help guys, good to have somewhere to turn for help.

I'd like to have a few to look at so I feel more like I can walk away. Anyone know of any others worth looking at. Budget for £16k but petrol is ok due to low annual mileage.
Cheers

mega expensive at 17k , cap retail is only 16095 so there is no way hes getting that for it off his drive way.

Cap clean on the car is 13750 and its looks pretty decent example in the pics, 15k ish is prob an ok private sale. Although in my experience people don't usually knock off 2k form their asking price. Laughing

I'd be looking to get 2005 s/c at around 13k with the similar miles. Petrol cars are slow sellers as a result of the fuel economy, having said that with a bad winter forecast the less desirable models will get snapped up especially in the 13-15k price bracket.

help

Thanks for everyones help. It does look a nice example, he is sticking at £15.5 which I agree is too much money. It has just had £2500 worth of work recently including new air pump, brake discs, front tires, suspension bushes, steering bushes, engine management software update and a major service.
Does anyone know of any others that I could look at that I probably havent come across on autotrader or pistonheads.

might be worth the 15.5k TBH
I expect if you dont get one bought before the end of the month prices will go up 300-700 in nov anyway, so might we worth seeing it.

TBH an extra £500 is nothing compaired to the bills for things like tyres or disk/pads services etc etc etc.

+1 Pea, i was thinking the same as you, thats a lot of money spent that you might have to spend on the next one you look at Big Cry for the sake of an extra £500. i know what i'd do Wink

thanks

Cheers, guys. I will keep looking and hopefully line up a few to look at. The relative piece of mind that this work has been done is worth the extra.
Anyone help me with the HST kit? How much am I looking at and where is best to get them from?
