United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Tangiers Orange
Genuine G4 Challenge Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE

Regretfully I have to sell my Range Rover Sport G4 Challenge, one of just 35 Sports built and used in the 2006 event.

The car is a 55-reg 4.4 V8 HSE (2006 car but lower car tax bracket!) and was used on the 2006 G4 Challenge event in Thailand. It was used only on the first stage of the event, and was a support vehicle for the second and third stages, so has not been worked hard.

As an HSE it benefits from all the usual luxuries and toys - black leather seats, electric front seats (drivers memory seat), heated front and rear seats, full-colour touchscreen satnav, electric windows all round, etc etc.

In addition, as a genuine G4 vehicle it comes with the followings extras:
- Full G4 roofrack (metal floor)
- 4x Warn rooflamps/spotlights
- Warn 9.5XP winch with lead
- Rear boot ladder
- Front + rear light guards
- Mantec steering guard
- Mantec snorkel
...and a load of other bits and pieces I've probably forgotten! The G4 door decals have also been reinstated since the photo's above were taken, you can see them in the photo with the rooftent on top (which incidentally is not included!).

The car is in great condition - not mint, there's stone chips on the front bumper and a few other minor marks - but as G4 vehicles go it is very good condition, particularly underneath.

It was last serviced at 66k around 6 months ago, MOT'd at the same time. More recently I have spent £1,000 on a new air suspension compressor, pipes and front lower arms - all common failures on RR Sports and Disco 3's.

Car is available for viewing in Bucks at weekends or in Hinckley (Leics) most weeks. Price is £18,995 ovno - this is around £5k cheaper than similarly spec'd Disco 3's. Please email me on coultonm 'at' hotmail 'dot' com or call me on 07021 536189.

A recent job change has increased my mileage dramatically, so I need a diesel, sadly. I'll miss that V8 rumble that's for sure...

Wow Mike. Shocked Big Cry After all you've done. You must be heartbroken.

I've watched on and off what you've done, with a little envy. Couldn't you hang on to it and get a crappy little fiesta diesel for the commute?

Gutted for you, if I had a few more pennies in the piggy bank I'd grab it quick. Couldn't hide it from SWMBO.

Good luck with the sale. Thumbs Up

Richard

Don't know your circumstances, but given all the effort you've put in, its a shame for someone else to get all the benefit. As said, get a cheap runaround if you can. Smile ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I know, it's pretty gutting really! Big Cry

Unfortunately a job change means I work away during the week, with an 80 mile commute and, as much as I'd love to keep it, the running costs are too high for that sort of mileage daily and there's no point running a second cheaper car as this would never get used.

Fortunately I did keep my BMW 330Ci, which is currently sat up under cover and SORN'd, so I can put that back on the road whenever really, and that is surprisingly economical over my commute: +30mpg!!

I'll definitely have another RRS, hopefully a TDV8 G4 RR Sport in a couple of years time, but for now someone else will get to enjoy this one.

Thanks for the kind words, guys - if you know anyone who would be interested, please pass on my details! Smile - Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE G4 Challenge vehicle (FOR SALE)

That would make for a perfect his'n'hers with my Vesuvius Red (orange) RRS Whistle, but can't quite justify it on that basis Sad

Good luck with the sale.

It doesn't use much diesel that's for sure! Wink

To give you an idea, over the 3,000 miles we did to, from and around Morocco it averaged exactly 20mpg - not bad fully loaded with a roof tent and everything in the boot. Think it weighed the best part of 3.5 tonnes, so 20mpg was pretty good I thought!

Depends how many miles you do: if you only done say 12k a year then it's fine, if you do 30k miles a year then it might get a bit pricey!

20mpg seems pretty good and I'm very tempted. It would only be a 'play thing' and I really can't justify it at the moment. We are really happy with the TDV8, to be honest I'm not sure of the fuel consumption on it but as I'm the only one that fills it the wife doesn't really know. Her Skoda goes on for ever at well over 50 mpg and fills it about once a month if that!

When retirement looms I do fancy a defender or something to do some serious off roading as the RRS only does tame stuff at the moment as I'd be gutted to bend or dent it. Not sure if I'd nip down to Morrocco and back, that must have been amazing.

I have mentioned the G4 to my indie service guy and if he hears of anyone interested I'll let you know.

Good luck - for someone looking to get into an RRS it's a hell of a way to start. Thumbs Up
