Tyre damage

Ive got about an inch long pocket of rubber coming away on the brand new pirelli in a downward patter at the rim protector...i would say about 1mm thickness worth

Do you think this is something i should get the dealer to look at? To be honest i noticed it not to long after collection, but forgot having just noticed it again... Mike

Not worth the risk leaving it. You will need a new one. How was it done? Did the garage do it and did nt tell you? though they wont admit it now.

Well its been logged and we going to leave it to see how it develops - if it does worsen then its recorded and should aid the claim, i was happy with that, although possibly preferring a straight replacement Mike

Yes,

I bought a set of new Landrover take off wheels/tyres Pirelli SCORPION ZERO Asimmetrico from about 4 months ago, I put the wheels on about 2 months ago and as far as I am aware I have never gone over a pothole, kerb or anything. I have done about 500 miles with them. When I washed the car at the weekend I noticed I had a buldge on the front and rear nearside tyres. Big Cry

The rims are totaly unmarked as are the sidewalls. I am very dissapointed if this is damage caused by normal road use. Mad

I had on contis for a year before and apart from the well documented edge wearing out syndrome they were fine. MY 2014 3.0 SDV6 HSE Dynamic

Sorry to hear that

The issue I had wasn't a bulge and came from the factory though so it was probably a very different thing? Mike

If you have bulges then you must get them changed they are not safe. This would be a mot failure. If it was on a hgv you would get an immediate prohibition and until they were changed the vehicle would not be allowed to move.
