Well it does matter as anyone can book you in for a service, not just the service manager Rolling Eyes

So you contact a dealer who has a really good reputation.

I gather this is the first time you called and based on the lack of reply you dismiss them out of hand. Shocked

Fair enough but can you be absolutely certain they had the correct number and that the number was available (ie not engaged) the whole time? If it was a mobile can you gaurantee it and the network had a good signal?

As you say you are the customer and you have the choice to go elsewhere. Me I'd give a dealer with a good reputation a second chance rather than cross my fingers elsewhere. Sad

Good Luck

Richard

It is also interesting that LPR is NOT mentioned in the title. Is this to prolong them noticing it in the hope of damaging there reputation.... Rolling Eyes

Never had anything to do with LPR .

Sometimes I forget to pass a message on, or forget to ring someone back, maybe a return call would have done the trick.

Sometimes I carnt spell Ivor Whistle

Shock horror a Land Rover garage treated you like you weren't that important! Even after the launch of one of their biggest announcements to date regarding the new FFRR Rolling with laughter

However this is the first post I've read bad things about LPR as you only had a bad experience in our eyes on not speaking to someone my opinion is that LPR are a good dealership.

If you really want to be disheartened get your demanding ass up north and see how you're treated with a self important attitude. Thumbs Up

I am quoting you but this also applies to the other posters who are rushing to defend the dealership liked they owned it.

Main dealers charge premium rates for everything they do; selling cars;servicing etc. The customer/potential customer should expect a premium service....That means..returning a call asap...or at least that day.Not really asking for much is it.

For those who think it is asking too much and continue to stoutly defend the dealer...maybe your are just pushovers Laughing S/C 06 Black

Given their email addresses are on here, I would (and have done Wink ) dropped them a friendly email explaining what you needed and requesting a call back when convenient - you could even detail times that suited you Idea
Has always worked for me. Thumbs Up
Youre also making the assumption that David got the message Wink

Maybe a step back and a deep breath in order here, yes it's annoying and I admit I expect people to do what they say they will do especially when it comes to work.i have no dealings with lpr and I'm never likely to have, but I can't ever recall anything bad about them and if there has been an issue it has been sorted promptly and politely.just don't cut your nose off to spite your face over a not passed on message or something more important.A good garage dealer or Indy is hard to find.

Nope not defending like I own them but when I see 99.9% posts positive regarding them I question one that slates.

Granted if you'd walked in, sat in vehicles, asked for assistance and been ignored I'd understand. However as you called its faceless and whilst it is bad you didn't receive a call back surely that's not enough to say its not that worthy of your business.

First impressions are important in garages and I sympathise with you on not feeling that special as I've had treatment worse in a LR garage however I went back and they where great. Maybe if you'd been there physically you'd have seen if they where busy and had a more informed view.

Who knows but for every bad service we tell 10 people!

As for a pushover, nope I'm just not a self appointed VIP.
