My knob is all corroded and showing white plastic under silver, I think this has been like this for 6 months at least meaning it happened only 6 months old which I think is very poor.

I dont wear rings and do not hold onto my knob with sweaty hands for long periods.

Poor product.

Anyway............anyone know how much a replacement knob is?

As said, I'd take it back if the car is still in warranty

Replacements look to be in the region of £100-150 although I can't find your exact colour on a quick google search.  ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Got my 30K service coming up......will ask for it replaced under warranty.....it went like that very quickly from new so it is not fit for purpose really.

You need to find something else to do with your left hand mate. I replaced mine,from Powerful uk,just had a quick look but don't see one in your colour.They do them on an exchange basis so I bet they could sort something out if you have no luck at the dealers.To be honest though it looks like you like your sport a bit to much

To corrode that quickly suggests you've been gripping the knob too tightly and the salt in your tears has attacked it

Do you put aftershave on using you hands This maybe the cause of your knob wearing out prematurely, the residue on your hand contaminating your knob

Are you sure no one has had been licking the knob?

Yes, swapped on warranty, no problem.

Did they give you any further advice on how not to wear out your knob so quickly

Also, had they seen similar cases of knob fatigue, or were you alone
