Tyres and my 2010 RRS

I picked up my RRS about 6 weeks agao. Drove it around for a week ,then went away to work. When I came back I noticed a chunk of rubber missing from the side wall my rear pessenger tyre, no damage to the wheel at all. On closer inspection of the rest of my tyres I notice the drivers rear tyre is going the same way. In about 4 different spots, but on this tyre there is flaps of rubber.

I took it back to the dealers who booked it in but I had to away to work again so im taking it in when I get home.

I want them(The dealer) to replace the tyres as I wouldnt expect tyres like this on a £5K car never mind a £40K car.

Do you agree ? Do you think there will be any problems with this ?

Potholes!! When 2.5 tonnes thuds into a pothole that is what happens. I am pretty carefull with my wheels, but you can still knacker them doing that or bumping up kerbs, as I have found out!
The tyres will be rated 106 xl, but it is still only rubber!
If it is any help, I carried on until the tread was done before changing, most of the rubber next to the rim is "rim protector" anyway
Cheers

Yeah I thought that pot hole would be the cause.

My question was though do you think tha the dealer should replace them free of charge ?

If the 'faults' were there before you bought it you can try and get the tyres replaced for free.

If you didn't spot the tyres were damaged when you first collected it or it has happened since you took delivery then why should they pay?

i doubt the dealer would give you anything back, as it is a non warrenty item, at best you might get some at cost out of them!
cheers
