I concur, you can have your lights programmed to stay on with ignition if you ask LR nicely (Scandanavian setting)

I always have either my headlights or sidelights on,its not my driving thats the problem I'm worried about its the ones who pull straight out and then say "I never saw you" !
I've done this since I had a string of Volvo estates and can't see why anyone with even a modicum of intelligence wouldn't do likewise, why would you not want to give you the edge to prevent an accident or all all Scandinavians "stupid" ? MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

Again, I concur. Smidsy (sorry mate I didn't see you) can be almost eliminated in my opinion if drivers made themselves more visible. It worked when I used to ride bikes and it works in my car. Very Happy RRS 2010

I am a firm believer in them.....so always have my headlights on...but yes, expensive bulbs when they blow, hence DRL are better!

Bought both from amazon one for car and one for the sport the masterlife is the better buy as you get a fitting kit to flush fit into the bumper.

you got a pic yet mate?

Thanks.

Myself and Awd man did these last year, well I did mine then not to sure when Kyle got round to his Laughing If you search Awd man he did quite a comprehensive guide into how he did his.The only difference is I baked my lights in the oven Shocked And didn't spray the internals as my sport isn't colour coded.
Glad you like.

If you can't see the big range rover, get glasses or don't drive... People still hit cars with DRLs on.

I know loads of police cars hit with all the blues on...I also know someone ran into a fire engine with blues on full fend off, yes with all his lights on!..I'm sure DRLs are more powerful and must make you more visible!!

See and be seen...let's either put anticols on or a red flag Whistle

It's not Scandinavians being idiots, it's idiots being idiots and the nanny state nannying...people still drive into each other in Scandinavia you know! Mike

Well I can see the Range Rover, but I'm sitting in it, so does not help much, trying to have the others to see me.

Are you suggesting that police cars and fire engines get rid of the blue lights because people crash into them anyway? Wink '08 RRS TDV8

All I know is that in the 33 years I have been driving doing well over 20K miles + per annum here in the UK and all over Europe all with either DRLs headlights or sidelights on I've never once had anything other than parking bumps so won't be changing my practice any time soon.
I don't think anyone has to be an idiot or blind to pull out in front of anything just takes a momentary loss of concentration .
I think the Scandanavians have revolutionised safety in cars over the past 3 decades so happy to accept that they might just be right to make DRL's compulsory. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

No but to say if when we equip those with full high intensity blues and people still miss them, then silly little drl's don't add any value.

Loads of people dive into cars with full headlights on too...

Fit drl's enjoy them, just don't force them on everyone else through a nanny state!

Why not drive slower to give time to be seen and respond? (I'm not advocating lowering speed limits btw...just a point) Mike

And where did you read anybody trying to force others to install them? I only see people asking about them and others trying to help.

Actually I only see you telling others that they should not install them, that they are stupid(the lights) and so on.

Drive slowly? Sure, actually, I could stay home, even safer.

I just do not see the your point, sure DRLs will not avoid all collisions, some people still will not see you, but every little helps, do not see what's wrong with that.

Basically, I and others like them and think they might be useful, so install them.
You do not like them and find them useless, so please do not install them. '08 RRS TDV8

I concur Thumbs Up

I recall many drivers saying how stupid it would be to follow Mercedes and Volvo by fitting seatbelts and that they would do little to save lives. We're they all wrong? Or idiots?

Making something legal that for safety reasons that are proven and based on analysis is rarely wrong, long may it continue Very Happy RRS 2010
