Satellite broadband

I'm looking at getting Tooway's satellite broadband system to replace my existing very slow BT broadband. Anyone got satellite broadband? If so what do you think of it as a replacement for current 0.48mbps service I get at present. The main question is "are you pleased you bought it?"

Hmm not sure if anyone here uses that.

You tried satellite broadband specific forums/website yet?

Out of curiousity how much would such a system cost?

I've got tooways 10mb service I think it is , latency is a major problem for me as i do a lot of browsing. Download seeps are good @ 10mb but only at the router, when distributed wirelessly you get a a significant degradation in service.

Cust service is ok, in our part off the world they use random contractors who ive found are a hit or a massive miss.

Thanks x5pea for just the information I was looking for.

I realise latency is much slower as it is mentioned in shoot em up type game playing, but as I don't play such games I thought no more of it. I also do a fair amount of browsing and thought the latency problem would be compensated for with the extra speed, my current speed is 0.48mbps by the way.

We have a very good contractor here who guarantees his work and equipment so I have no worries on that score.

As for being RRS-Driver's first victim, I fear he shot himself in the foot this time. Rolling with laughter
