Scotland 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Fuji White
Aluminium edge for Range Rover Sport Steps.

Hi there
The trim for my steps on my range rover has fallen off and its lost.
Im gutted about this as I have only bought the car from a private dealer about 3months ago who said he checked everything and its all fine and gave me a warranty but obviously not covering something as little as this.

Ive saw on Ebay there are places selling replacements strips for maybe 85-100. Do you know if the strips are standard and will fit all styles of steps? Just dont want to order and have to return it.

And does anyone know of anyone selling thse strips a little cheaper?

Is there such a thing as a range rover broker?

Thanks

1st post on here so looking forward to seeing the response. Thanks again. Range Rover Sport Supercharged 2006 plate

Someone said a while back that the replacement strips didnt fit very well
Mine fell off but i had the strip so i just removed them and tiger sealed it back on.

Personally id just buy a new side step or even a pair from ebay and fit them yourself, pretty straight forward step by step video here,

you can ignore most of the video your only worried about the bolting on of the step which is only 6 10mm bolts each side.

alternativly fire out to mine and ill give you a hand

Ok thanks for that.

To be honest buying new steps would really annoy me as your talking a few hundred quid.

I'll maybe take you up on that offer though if I cant get new strips and have to buy new steps. Range Rover Sport Supercharged 2006 plate

Same happened to me a few weeks back. I brought one from eBay... It's not one that said may need modification, this fitted like a glove. It's a fiddily job tbh but definitely worth doing to avoid spending money on steps!

Rivets along the flat part of the trim. But cut down 2 dumpy self tapers so there short enough not to foul the outside of the trim, fire them in front and back (where they bend round). That's what I done.
It was the rivets that failed in the first place. Done mines a few months ago. I will also offer full fitting assistance, even have the screws and rivets. Don't forget the Autosol metal polish before fitting though!!! Thumbs Up

Ken

How much hassle was it to bend them into shape?

It says on the listing that professional help may be required.

Im worried i buy them and they dont fit or its a nightmare to get them on.

And silly question time but what did u clamp them on with?

Im not the best at DIY lol

Thanks again Range Rover Sport Supercharged 2006 plate

Easy guys
i've just noticed one of mine from the passenger side is missing, at first i thought it had been pulled off or stolen but is this a common thing with the runners - do they litterally fall off at some point?

Cheers

The rivets desolve after contact with road salt. I replaced my nearside trim with ones off eBay 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

Just a suggestion but use stainless steel pop-rivets should last longer.

Cheers
