Heat gun along the seam to make the black sealent tacky

Slowly you can clam the two half apart till you end up with this

A few torx screws will release the grey inners from the clear lens section (and the chrome bezels from the grey inners)

then you can spray the inner (I used matt black which is much easier than gloss and tbh looks the same once the units are back together)

Re attach the chrome bezels (torx screws again)

back together (using heat gun to re-heat the gunk)

Oh dear... you actually made that appealing and easy to follow... hmmm

How did you manage to de-tango the indicator reflectors? Also what paint did you use - looks great! Thumbs Up

I purchased a pair crystal lens from one of our American members on here (I'll look for his thread)

Then it's just a straight swap.... orange out... crystal in... couldn't be easier Thumbs Up

The paint is boggo standard Harfrauds matt black in a sray can... Thumbs Up RRS gone

Thumbs Up

One thing to rememeber/be aware of, the lens's come soft.... do not install them immediatly or if you do, glue the top tab in place as per thread instructions.

I left mine to cure for a couple of months and they were fine and 100% stiff by then Thumbs Up RRS gone

Mine are plain white which match the xenons very well.

You need 120 and 106mm rings

Ca will know what to do RRS gone

Thanks very much for this thread and all the details. You made me want to do this, and demystified the process.
Got the smoked side reflector from Mike, and the "angel eye" rings, and did this today for the Mrs. I just used a can of hi-heat gloss black to spray the grey part.

I left the headlight in the African winter sun for 30 minutes, and then it was quite easy to open with the help of a couple of large screwdrivers and a bit of patience.
