Key fob boot opening

Can anyone clear this one up for me, my key fob ( 3 buttons ) when I used to press the range rover/boot button the large part of the boot would pop open then one day it started to open the smaller upper boot lid instead ??? Why is this ?? Also I'd prefer it to open the large boot lid again as I rarely use the top opening !!!

Also when I was having the rear window tinted the installer did something whilst the boot was open and the rear suspension dropped on its own ?? I've never been able to make it do that would be handy for getting the dogs in !

Thanks guys

Matt

Ooh that happens to me regularly...just when you've got the bottom button to open the whole gate, all of a sudden the top one opens, as is happening now. There's a thread on this somewhere, but I keep forgetting...you've got to hit the bottom button when pressing the button on the gate or something or other. Oh, I dunno, just when i've got it right it goes wrong.

You see, what happens is that I open the top half to put the dogs leads on and get me wellies out , then shut it to stop the dogs escaping, then open the bottom half to get the dogs out, lock it, then remember I've left me coat on the back seat, so double unlock the car, lock it, then with the dogs in uber hyper pre walk mode, suddenly remember that the phone is on the front console, so unlock car, get phone, lock car , start off for a walk, then remember I've left the choccies and a pound coin in the console again, go back, unlock car, get choccies and coin, and set off again.

I never had this problem with my Defender.

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me.

In the last couple of days, when I try and open the boot with the remote, it opens the boot hatch rather than the whole boot.

Am I doing something wrong or am I experiencing my first electrical gremlin?

No I had the same problem, you can set either the hatch or whole boot to key press, you have to open boot while keeping boot button on key fob pressed for whole boot or open hatch while keeping botton pressed for hatch 2006 Se Tdv6 22" stormer alloys

Old post, but just saved me a little bit of cash so thought I'd bump it up.

Stealership were going to charge me an hour of labour (£80+VAT) whilst they worked out how to do this.

ps. Newcastle Stratstone, in case anyone is interested. And this was just after they'd refused to investigate the screeching noise from my suspension / brakes under the warranty, said I'd have to pay for the labour.

No, you still have to physically lift the tailgate, it only disengages the lock.
