AA Warranty Problems/Issues - Bad Review

The paperwork promises great things, the reality is it is a waste of money, they will try and get our of every single claim, blaming it on wear and tear, don't bother!!!!!!!!!

Not happy! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

I have just taken out the AA Breakdown, Garage and Parts type policy (Mainly for the recovery). I am sure that you have to physically break down to be able to claim? What happened with you? I anticipated problems with this policy and took out a Warranty Direct policy £600 for 12 monts but covers everything pretty much ( Tyres, exhaust, pads etc.... Excluded) for wear and tear too. 2009 3.6 TDV8 HST

That is how it was explained whilst trying to make a claim for a fault on my diff..... It is a pity it was not explained that way when selling the policy. The diff had to be removed at my expense then stripped down, at my expense then if they think the fault was component failure, they pay, but if it was worn, they do not.

The warranty is nothing like a main dealer one...... I think I should have paid more and gone for a warranty that also covers wear, think warranty wise do this, this removing the 'grey' area of claim payout avoidance.....

can't fault the official LR extended warranty

it's always a fun thread talking about warranties with everyone certain theirs is golden. I just go on the amount of claims I had on a 57 plate TDV8 using LR extended, it was fairly absurd!

sorry about AA Sad ============

Mixy, you obviously didn't read the full T&C's before taking out the warranty, i'm sorry but its not the AA at fault here. Whistle

Try Warranty Direct Email this Guy NealK@warrantydirect.co.uk he was very helpful and spent nearly 2 hours on the phone with me I paid £600 for 12 months top level "Extra Care" cover which covers wear and tear (After 90 days) and consequential damage too.

Cant say anything about claiming but it seems prettey bulletproof to me there are T&C's on servicing, MOTs....Etc but as long as you keep on top of those it should be very difficult for them to wriggle out of any claims.

Depending on the age of your car depends on the % you pay towards Parts......I am on 20% so they pay 80% but they also pay 100% Labour costs.

I hope this helps in some way.

Warranty direct will try to wriggle out of everything, i too had the top of the range policy, covers everything he said! Woulnt pay out for new wiring loom that had failed, wouldnt pay out for EGR valve, wouldnt pay out for dampers or bushes that had broke, only claim they paid was the fuel pump!

Surely they must have given you a reason for not paying out? Did you follow the correct procedure in accordance with their T&C's when first finding the fault?

Wiring:- was not covered because it is not a listed component, read the list of things covered and you will see that it dosnt mention wiring at all.

egr:- not covered as the failure was caused by carbon build up, so not failed, ie they say it could be cleaned and it would work - so not failure.

bushes:- not covered under the wear and tear as they are a known fault

They couldnt get out of the fuel pump as it did suffer mechanical failure!!

As far as following their procedures, yes complied with them all as i had paid extra for dealer rates, so went it to landrover.

On the egr, it would only be cleaned if part of the manufacturers servicing schedule would be my argument, as it int a reasonable person couldn't be expected to do anymore then follow the official manufacture maintenance regime and therefore it wouldn't be cleaned.

I agree with the buses and why they aren't covered. Wiring is a funny one Mike

My alternator failed but I managed to drive to the dealers, therefore no warranty payout as it was not a breakdown Sad 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

I've had 2 claims on my AA policy both with no problem, but you have to read t&c and be a bit smart. 1st. claim alternator failed, could have jumped it myself but that may have voided the claim, get the patrol out and it's covered, and you choose the garage you want to use. 2nd time handbrake actuator failed. Again get them straight out of if not 'break down' next time your out. Both patrols were very helpful and they didn't try to wriggle out of the claim, maybe I've just been lucky but you do have to pay attention to t&c. I'm sure landrover warranty is good but expensive, take your choice.

Surely your egr valves would of come under emissions cover or even consequential damage assuming you had this cover Shocked
