I might be missing something here Muddy, but I can't see how the dealer is doing you any favours.
They damaged your car and as a result you're handing them another £12.5k, albeit to get into a FFRR. Confused Confused ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I know Sad

Problem is I don't want mine back even more now I know the dealer has been taken over in case I have any problems with the repair and if I hang on I may get hit harder when I change and have to declare repair Evil or Very Mad

By swapping my 2009 (59) RRS for a 2011 (60) with the 2 year goodwill warranty I can start afresh with the new dealers, hopefully enjoy owning a LR again and sell the recently purchased unused HSE tyres/alloys to recover the cost Thumbs Up

The depreciation on the RRS is the biggest problem - I have never lost this much on a LR before Big Cry

What choice do I have Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

I dropped about £8K getting out of a Mercedes estate I'd only had for about 6 months to get into my previous RRS so feel for you but just think how much happier you will be to get rid of the lemon. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

England 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 SE Siberian Silver

Hi Muddy wheels.
I don't see any difference between the dealer damaging your motor and in being involved in a RTA. It gets repaired and you either put up with it or move it on. Accidents happen everyday and can be to anybody. So it sounds like youve decided you don't like your motor and it's time to move on anyway.
Next owner of your RRS may be happywith it now you've taken the big financial hit.
Many second hand cars are someone's old problem, I love the new car feeling though pay for it heavily with depreciation.
You pays yer money, yer takes yer choice!
Anyway good luck with the Vogue, but personally I prefer the 2012 RRS Smile
Enjoy.

SS - difference is a rta is an accident whereas a dealer lifting with the wrong equipment and dropping it is negligent Shocked

I am sure the RRS will be fine after repair but I have never liked it and prefer the new ffrr so decided to move on Thumbs Up

Now looking at a 12 month old vogue se with £25k saving compared to the new price - so maybe my depreciation not too bad after all Laughing Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Sometimes it is easier just to move on as you will never be happy with RRS, the problems etc will always be at the back of your mind. As far as depreciation goes they have us by the b Censored lls Big Cry but as long as you are happy enough with the deal thats all that matters. Hope things go ok for you whatever you finally decide Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I don't believe it Thud

"smart key not found" message appeared last night on the Vogue loaner and will not lock and will only start holding key under dash Shocked

Dealer says they need it back to sort the problem and I will have to use my old car as they have not got me a replacement sorted Evil or Very Mad

Worried now with the sale of dealership I get fobbed off Banging Head Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Ady - If I sell privately -

1. I will not get the 2 year warranty on my replacement,
2. If I have to declare the repair - buyer will screw me down on price,
3. I will probably have to fit the new tyres/alloys just purchased so unable to recover the cost of them Big Cry

Oh and prices on autotrader now starting at £31k for similar Thud

Dealer dropped my Sport back this afternoon to collect the Vogue loaner with faulty smart key Sad

Walking round the vehicle with them I noticed some new scratches to the repaired wing and a new black mark on the rear bumper Shocked

After they left I also noticed the trim to C pillar has been refitted poorly after the repair and there is paint on the front grille land rover badge - the finish looks more bodged than "Land Rover Approved Standard" Rolling Eyes

I next sat in the car and the first thing I smelt was stale cigarettes despite me never smoking as the smell alone makes me sneeze and gives me a sore throat and eyes Thud

Later I took the car for a run - within 100 m of my house it lit up like a xmas tree!

1. Gearbox fault

2. Emergency brake assist not available

3. Park brake fault

4. Stability control not available

5. Cruise not available

6. Air suspension lowered for safety

I pulled over and turned it off for a while then resumed when warnings cleared Mad

At the next roundabout I had complete power loss on the roundabout much to the annoyance of other motorists and myself Evil or Very Mad

My trip was short and on return run everything lit up again and I experienced power loss on the roundabout again Yawn

At this point with the return of the sport in a worse condition than it left, the persistent faults and to top it all being let down by the vogue loan car - I am very concerned if buying another range rover is the right decision and maybe time to switch to another brand? Did they trailor it to you or drive, surely it was exhibiting those signs before they dropped it off. Question
To be honest Muddy, I'm usually VERY mild mannered, but in your circumstances, I would be down your dealers creating Censored hell at the moment Evil or Very Mad , I think you've had to put up with way too much.
Time to draw this to a conclusion and going ape at the seems very appropriate now Thumbs Up Mad ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

They drove it but never said anything Confused

I am more patient than I used to be but this is the last straw Evil or Very Mad

After 6 excellent LR's over 10 years under Ford/BMW ownership not sure I will buy another LR/RR now Thud

I feel let down by LR, their new pricier "quality" vehicles and the dealers since TATA took over Banging Head Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
