Suspension problem - RRS going to Lookers Park Royal

3 days ago I started getting the "Suspension vehicle raising slowly" message followed by "Suspension will raise when system cooled" and the car giving up on going to off-road height. Tried all the advice on the forum e.g. running the car for a while to allow air recharge in suspension system and let it cool down for several hours (tried in different order as well) but nothing helped and the same messages are consistently coming up, ending in failure to raise the suspension. The rear does go up as expected but the front tries halfheartedly before complete refusal. I can also hear a whirring noise which I never noticed when changing the suspension height before.

Didn't try lowering to access height fearing it might not come back to normal so don't know if that still works. The car still drives fine but this could lead to a more serious suspension problem. No fault codes/lights are showing but inability to raise the suspension after several minutes and doing so every time in the past 3 days is a fault in my opinion.

So ... with the last 3 weeks of the original 3 year warranty remaining, got it booked in at my nearest dealer (LPR) for today (will drop by to say hello if you are in, James). This is the first problem I have encountered with the car in my 3 months of ownership and looks like it's a common one too Sad

Let's see what LPR find.

Are you running a book on the outcome?
I'm going to go with new compressor & relay being required, so a bill of around £500.

Had a quick chat with David when I dropped off the car this morning and he explained some of the possiblities.

Phoned in the afternoon and left a message at reception asking for status. Got a call from Alison later informing me that a software update was required which has been installed. The computer @ LPR is also showing a "lazy compressor" so a new one has been ordered for fitting tomorrow.

You are correct there about the compressor bit DrLex but nothing has been said about a relay (yet). Oh and I didn't bother asking about the cost as it's been confirmed as covered under warranty Thumbs Up

Although this belongs in a different section (where I will post when this is over) but just want to say a very good experience at Lookers Park Royal so far. Absolutely no attempts to blame it on misuse/wear & tear which I have seen at other dealerships and garages (not Land Rover though) in the past. Everyone is so polite even though I have a habit of asking too many questions Smile

Hope the car is fixed and I get it back tomorrow.

Fkarim,

I was off site yesterday and unfortunately was let down by a certain mobile phone provider Whistle so have not had access to the forum...........

Sorry I missed you, and glad to hear from your comments that you have been looked after well.

Yes I asked for you yesterday James. Will be collecting the car later today so might see you if you're around.

In which case it's more the case of a lazy relay resulting in an over-worked compressor.
Good catch within warranty & sounds like credit to LPR (once again).

Well it was bumper-to-bumper rush hour traffic throughout and because the ride was very comfortable even before, I didn't notice any difference. What's important is that raising and lowering the suspension now works and is noticeably quicker, quieter and smoother than ever before Thumbs Up Thanks to everyone @ LPR.
