Ceramic pads legal in EU?

I remembered that when i was living in Miami for years, i noticed that on my Saab 900 turbo conv, the front wheels never seemed to get durty of brake dust.

Now, i just came back from LA and after a tour of 3000 miles,
and again i noticed that my rental cars front wheels were completely clean!!

It seems in the EU we use more Semi Metallic pads as in the USA they tend to use more Ceramic pads which are low dusting!!
Also the clour of the dust is light gray, the pads last longer and produce less vibration and noise!!

Would it be legal for us to just swith to these Ceramic pads?

And where can i get these? Does LR has the option to choose?

This would safe us a lot of pain cleaning the wheels! Thumbs Up

I would have thought so seen as Porsche sell Ceramic brakes as an upgrade.

Looks like they're ok in the EU. For example:

http://www.ebcbrakes.com/automotive/redstu...pads.shtml 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Does LR offer the option to choose original LR Ceramic pads?

Or i have to buy them privately and LR puts them on my car?

Anybody has experience with these?

What brand to look for?

Thank for your advise Thumbs Up SW

I doubt a LR garage will fit any pads that aren't LR OEM pads. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Ceramic pads ARE legal in the EU. Try EBC pads.

I have used the EBC Redstuff pads in my own cars before, and have been well impressed with the improved stopping power, and less brake dust Thumbs Up Strathearn Engineering
