255/50 or 255/55 19" A/T tyres?

I need a decent sert of A/T tyres for my RRS, think I will be going for General Grabbers.

I have an ex-G4 challenge vehicle with 2 sets of wheels and currently both sets are fitted with 255/50/19 tyres. However, looking at the G4 spec sheets (http://www.g4ownersclub.com/Resources/2006/SpecSheets/SPECSHEET2006-RANGEROVERSPORT.PDF) they were fitted with 255/55/19 tyres.

So, which should my car be fitted with and will fitting the 55-profile tyres affect my speedo and fuel economy (favourably?) at all? I would prefer the higher sidewall for a number of reasons: softer ride, slightly higher ground clearance and more protection for the alloy when offroad.

Cheers! - Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE G4 Challenge vehicle (FOR SALE)

The 255/55x19 will give you a better ride and most AT users go this size, higher load rating. Thumbs Up

Allways have good stock of the General AT. Please call us 01737 241370 for the quickest response Smile

Any chance of a photo of the 255/55/19 AT fitted?

I need some new tyres and given the terrain around here and the snow I think the AT may be just the ticket...

Interestingly the 19" is bigger than the 20" standard wheel tyre combo by 10mm;

255/50/19 - 738mm dia

255/55/19 - 764mm dia. (Oversize)

275/40/20 - 728mm dia.

275/45/20 - 756mm dia. (Oversize) Allan
