Two hours of RRS ownership

...came to an end when it was taken away by LR Recovery just now.

New RRS delivered this morning so took it to the filling station and filled up with diesel. On returning from paying up,car dead. LR assistance came out and diagnosed a faulty battery, but none in stock at any local dealer so car has been recovered pending parts order- 1 or two days.

To say I'm unimpressed is an understatement. Censored Censored According to AA man, battery must have been stored for too long at the factory and "they don't store well if left off charge."

Shouldn't this have been checked by supplying dealer at PDI??

Looking for positives, which is hard at present, the car drove very well for the twenty minutes I was able to drive it.

Oh good. Rod

Wow! Sorry to hear that. I know that its easy to say......but don't let this glich put you off.

Yes - the battery should have been checked, and yes it should never have happened. All I can say is that my RRS is probably one of the best, if not the best car I have owned for handling, looks, image and safety.

Jim

You are lucky, mine didn't even make it out of the dealership.

I'm surprised you had to fill it up with diesel so soon after delivery Shocked I take it you didn't negociate a full tank of fuel when order was placed Whistle Hope you get it sorted very soon, and i would suggest what others above have suggested and take one off a stock vehicle unless they have put you in a top of the range replacement Thumbs Up Agree with jim, don't let this glitch put you off the RRS.

Thanks for your support. Update: LR customer support have got involved and are sorting things out such that I will have the car delivered back today. The new battery is on critical order and will get to the local dealer this morning.

There are also various goodies being discussed as compensation for a very bad start to my RRS ownership....

As my supplying dealer was in Yorkshire no local dealer was willing to do a swap from a stock model(nice), and although there are plenty of batteries that would fit LR wouldn't let the AA fit one as it wouldn't be a LR approved replacement, which is pretty daft- the AA technician thought so too.

Yesterday I never wanted to see the f'ing thing again but I guess I'll have another go. Rod
