I'd take that to be honest Muddy Wink , make sure the warranty is fully transferrable to a new owner, so you can use it to add value when you come to sell it or trade in against your FF Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

All in all not a too bad an outcome muddy, as Beano says it will add value to your motor if you sell privately which is the way i would go seeing the price that they insulted you with Whistle

I had always planned to own this RRS for 5 years - the extended warranty makes it easier to swallow after what happened last week Sad

As you can see from my sig I have been changing frequently but this time I thought spend a bit more, get a better car, keep it longer and it would work out same money - how wrong can you be Big Cry Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I think you're 'worrying' about it to much Muddy Wink

You still have a great RRS (yes I know you've had some problems), and if you forget the 'accident' at the agrage you now have an RRS with and additional 2 year warranty, plus it didn't cost you to get it serviced (£500 Question ) and a garage that will have to maintain it or anything that goes wrong with the suspension, steering etc due the the possible damage they caused - that's a great stick to have in your back pocket to beat them with.

I think the issue is you now would like to get and FFRR (and who could blame you), but if you look at the 'then' and 'now' position I'd say you're up on the deal.

Sounds like a good deal.

In addition you could ask them for a written confirmation that they will not hold the damage against you should you one day trade in in your car with them '08 RRS TDV8

Would of thought the new model FFRR will reduce the prices of old model by even more, so by waiting a year or so they will be relativley a lot cheaper if you go with old model and the Sport has probably been the best performing on depreciation from Landrover since its launch.

Westminister FFRR in Showroom today £69500 looked and smelt real good, but to think new entry level price going up to a rumoured £100,000

Second dealer - 2011 Vogue SE advertised £51844 will take £51k + road tax cash no px

Sounds like it's not going to plan which is a shame...

However, can I ask why you are now so out of favour with your RRS? I understand what has transpired (which was bad) but surely after the car has been put right (which the LR dealer have a duty to do) it will be as good as when you dropped it off.

Is it now simply a case of getting bored of the RRS and wanting a FFRR? Or do you have bad feelings towards your RRS now after what's happened? My last car (Audi V8 ) got damaged through no fault of my own and when it first happened I was gutted, then after a week or so I wanted to get rid, it felt spoiled in some way. However, after it was fixed and looked better than before I loved it again...... until I chopped it in for the RRS that is Laughing

Nothing wrong with getting bored and changing your car frequently (I've had over 60 in 16 years of driving) but you have to understand you will lose money (which I'm sure you know) hand over fist if you change so often.

Me personally, I wouldn't have an FFRR over my RRS. I looked closely at buying one instead of my RRS and I couldn't do it, too big and plain for me.

Personal choice though so each to their own Smile

After 6 superb LR's before in 2010 I tested a 3.6 TDV6 Vogue and the RRS - I hated the Vogue Embarassed

The RRS was the most expensive car I ever bought and took me years to finally afford/pluck up the courage to buy Bow down

Since the day I got it I have had poor customer service, missing wiring loom, summer tyres on a 4x4, uneven tyre wear, electrical faults, paint defects and I have had enough even though it is probably all sorted now - I hate it Evil or Very Mad

The 4.4 Vogue is miles superior to the RRS in everything except cornering but I have found that I am so relaxed in the vogue I enjoy the drive and don't feel like throwing it around the bends but can overtake if I want to Cool

LR Dealers trying to s Censored w me will be the last straw though and love it or not I will not buy another JLR at this rate Big Cry Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

OK so to me it sounds like you've had a lemon of a car. They unfortunately come around as we all know only too well.

I was very dubious about coming from Audi, VW and BMW's to a LR based on build quality and reputation. My last Audi was bulletproof and I gave it a very hard life, yet despite 90k miles it was still as well put together as the day I got it.

With regards to your RRS, think back to why you originally hated the Vogue? What has changed since, is it just because of this 1 lemon car and the unfortunate circumstances? Did you get all of your previous LR's from the same dealer as this one?

I know you say you're more relaxed in the Vogue that you don't want to throw it about, but give it time and you will miss the chassis of the RRS. I was more relaxed with mine when I first got it and compared to the Audi it's like a boat but now I do chuck the RRS about more than I thought I would.

It's not just LR dealers trying to screw you, all dealers do, with the exception of some genuinely good and honest ones out there. I've bought cars from the same dealers 3 times in the row until they annoyed me then I'd move on to another dealer or brand.

Either way, I hope you get it sorted but don't rush into anything.

I've been there myself far too many times.... like the time I chopped in a 328i Sport against a race spec STi, what a mistake that was. Or the time I sold my M3 for a Skyline.... which lasted 2 weeks before I ditched it!!! (Japanese rubbish)
