Nowt wrong with the Scott, but personally I'm a Specialised fan - first MTB I ever bought was a Rockhopper, followed by Stumpy and never looked back |

seems the specialized wins out, and most probably going to part with some serious cash to purchase one..

Hmm - not really comparing apples/apples there surely? Different website reviews & certainly not back to back. Bikeradar has also reviewed the Spark 2012 60 (26") and it won the comparison test in that issue of the magazine so it is actually a good machine http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/category...0-12-45914 Equiv Specialised (though MY2011) http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/bik...e-11-42273 Which goes back to the question - why chose 29" over 26"? What type of riding are you going to be doing? 29s are generally heavier and handle less well than their 26" compatriots. (I will own up to having a 2009 Spark 60 which I find an excellent steed) |

going to be doing local fire trails which are a). pretty steep, b). pretty rocky, and c). pretty slippery.. speaking to the local riders, a number have stated the 29er is a better choice for many of the tracks due to the loose rocks, wash outs etc etc.
