So, the manual for my 2010 TDV6 states thta there will be wheel wobble for the first few miles felt through the steering following start up. This apparently is due to the 'flat spotting' when parked overnight, so the tyre needs to get warm, reform it's shape and then all will be fine.

Now whilst I accept this explantation for a 2.5 tonne 4x4 car as being the norm, do all RRS's suffer this or does it depend on tyre make/type?

I'm running Goodyear Excellence 275/40/20 btw and intend to change in 4000 miles for Bridgestone D Sport, a tyre I ran very successfully on my FL2 which improved handling and ride no end!

It's not something I've noticed on my car on 20in Goodyear Wrangler F1 or 19in Vredestein Wintrac Extremes / Pirelli Scorpion ATR.

There have been a number of threads hereabouts in which flat spotting has been discussed. Be worth a search.

I do wonder if tyre pressures are an issue. The standard pressure for mine is 33psi/36psi F/R (from memory). I tend to run with a bit more pressure than that so maybe that overcomes the tendancy of the tyres to flatten at the bottom. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Hmmmm....not something which I have experienced with my car.

My drive way is gravel, so I don't know if that would make a difference?

never heard so much drival, ive left my RRS on the driveway for over 2 weeks when we went on holiday, no flat spot on my return running Hankooks 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater )))

Page 241 is an index page in my manual.

Page 201 states:

In order to minimise flat spotting, the tyre pressures can be increased to the max as stated on the tyre sidewall, for the period when the vehicle is stationary. Tyres must be returned to the specified running pressures before driving.

Thats the only ref I can find in my 2012 manual.

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

I get this on a daily basis for the first 2-3 miles, it then settlesd down. however, I do feel it's slightly worse now than it was 4 months ago when i got the car.

I'm going to find the nearest Hawker Hunt dealer and get alignement and balancing done next to see if that makes a difference. RRS 2010

2010 Manual states:-

FLAT SPOTS
If the vehicle is stationary for a long period when the ambient temperature is high, the tyres may form flat spots. When the vehicle is driven these flat spots cause a vibration which will steadily disappear as the tyres regain their original shape.

I don't think overnight is considered a long period and the ambient temperature must be high, so nothing to worry about. My RRS was regularly parked for a week or so summer and winter and never suffered from any vibration.
