2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver
Tow hitch fuse box access

Hi, i've looked through the forums but can't find an answer so hopefully another member can help. I have a 2008 RRS TDV8 with factory fitted tow pack.

When the trailer electrics are connected the trailer running lights don't work, however they do when hooked up to my Defender leading me to suspect the car fuses - simple except that I cant locate the "tow hitch fuse box".

The handbook suggests it's in the boot behind the rear panel. I've had a look and cant see anything obvious and without removing a number of panels cant go any further. Surely even LR in their infinite wisdom wouldn't make it that inaccessible?

Can anyone help?

Sweden 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HST Java Black

Hello Bryn.

There are two possible locations for the tow-electrics.
Either under the floor in the boot, where the jack and
lugnut tool are, it should, if mounted correctly, be in the left
rear corner.

If not, then it is located behind the sidewall (left) in the luggage
compartment. (on my -06 RRS itīs there.)
The sidewall is mounted with clips, be careful when reattaching,
so You donīt damage them, they must be properly aligned when
pressing home.

Hope that this helps.

Best of luck

Uffe As a rule, I always resist temptations,
unless they are irresistible.

My 08MY TDV8 has the fuses mounted in the spare wheel toolkit. Lift the floor panel and it's in the near side rear corner.

One question: is the fitting on the RRS the same as on the trailer? The RRS can be fitted with two different trailer sockets... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks guys,

I found it behind the left sidewall in the luggage department as Uffe suggested, it looks as though the previous owner has also had problems as there is a blue connector jumping the lighting circuit with the fog light circuit, so the tail lights will work providing I drive with the fogs on.

Having shorted the circuits with a couple of small drill bits (no circuit tester here) it would appear the brown feed wire is dead so looks like a trip to an auto electrician unless anyone else has come across this problem?
