Newer RRS or go back to Audi?

Hi guys,

Some of you may know from my previous posts I am having problems with my recently purchased 06 RRS HSE such as power loss, plumes of black smoke (EGR related) and more recently a couple more minor problems such as the fuel cap failing to release.

I bought the RRS as a "stop-gap" after writing off my 2007 Q7 in January. I have just moved house and purchased another property so could not afford to spend huge amounts on a car.

With the state of my RRS, I am not enjoying driving and therefore not treating the car well.
It's not been hoovered since I bought it in April and the only clean it gets is at the £5 hand-wash place down the road. Also, no mods which is unusual for me!

My question to those with the 2010MY or facelift RRS's, are these cars better built and less problematic compared to the 05-09? Are the interiors built more solid? Is the diesel engine less troublesome?

I love the shape of the RRS, the newer one even more so but I also know how good an SUV the Q7 is.

I'm in a position to get what I want now and really its between a newer RRS or a facelift Q7!

Help!!?? Bow down

2010 is a much better car mate, and personally id have one over the Q7 and I'm a VAG man at heart.

England

I looked seriously at a Q7 (amongst others) before I got my RRS and comparing like for like, I felt the RRS was a better car, The facelift interior is streets ahead of the previous models. Thumbs Up

What about reliability wise? Any engine issues on the 3.0? LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch.

Nearly 30k trouble free miles om my 2010 3ltr, can't comment on previous models reliability, but really pleased with mine! I have a friend who had a q7 for 3years who reckoned the RRS drove far better than his , although the things that niggle me on this model are the creases at the edges of doors, wings in fact just about any panel (think it shows most on black) these should be ironed out when the new one comes along, as the freelander 2 and evoque seem a lot better. I'd have another all the same!!
Cheers
