If you hit a big enough hole at speed it will damage any alloy. 2.7 TDV6

We have had to replace quite a few 20" OE and after market alloys over the years, also had to have quite a few straightened and cracks welded.

Any ideas of a specialist company who I cud maybe send a couple 22" wheels to get repaired properly? They've both been welded in the past but cracked again does that matter? Java black 2006 |

Now now, play nice! I spoke to one of your guys earlier about Tyres, but I forgot to ask a couple of questions. Is there any way of telling Genuine Overfinch alloys Vs the Cheaper copies? I see a few sets on eBay, but im scared to buy incase I cant tell if there the copies or not. I dont think for a minute you would want to overlook the used market, as this helps to promote the company ongoing, so is there a way to check? Im not knocking that the wheels arent worth what they are sold for by Overfinch and Khan, running my own manufacturing company I understand the issues mentioned regading tooling costs, R&D etc, the only issue is it puts it into another league for some people (Which I dont think is completely unintentional, and beneficial). I love the Overfinch Design Olympus Wheel, it just looks like something of Transformers (80's Kid here...) So i want them for my VW Amarok. Youve now all just realised, that spending nearly £5k on wheels for a £20k truck, isnt quite as 'insignificant' a purchase as it would be had I just bought Range Rover for £70k. But hopefully companies like Overfinch and Khan realise that the customers they have today could quite easily have been the aspirational kid who wanted a used set of Wheels as they couldbnt always afford them, but when they're older/more successfull etc, theyll be the one flying the flag for the brand they beleive in. Cheers I'm constantly appauled at the level of individuality in peoples vehicles, when there are so may options freely available, and that nobody thinks outside the box. |

KAHN is actually using a taiwan/china wheel factory to produce their wheels in case if you guys dont know. How they sell to KAHN china dealers here is by shipping this wheels out first and then "import" them into china to let people have the false impression that these wheels are actually imported wheels from UK. We managed to trace their source to the company doing the wheels for them here in China. The cost is actually a fraction of their listed retail price online. |

That may be true but it's not really the point. Most items are made in China these days. The important fact is whether or not they are made to the exacting quality standards required by reputable companies that purchase them and that they comply with any of the regulations in the county they are being sold in. That's where you lose out by buying cheap copies, you don't know if they have had any safety testing or if they meet the standards & laws of your country. Therefore, you can't be sure they are safe to put on your car! As for your point about them costing a fraction of retail price to manufacture.. Ummm, well No Sh t Sherlock That's hardly front page news! Hmmmm, I wonder if Nike Trainers or Sony Music Systems or Apple iPads are any different? I think not. That's just life in a commercial world. Not strictly true.. Although often the case. Yes there must be a tender process, however, the EU legislation does not preclude other factors than just price being taken into consideration when considering awards of contracts. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black 2013 Evoque 5 Door Pure Tech SD4 - Orkney Grey with Panoramic Roof (Mrs E's new baby) GONE - RRS - 3.0 TDV6 HSE - Santorini (2010) GONE - RRS - 2.7 TDV6 HSE - Java Black (2007) GONE - Porsche Boxster S - 3.2 - Black |
