Tailgate issues - slam to close

Hi guys,
2 issues with the tail gate.

The first is the main tailgate is hard to close, need to slam it other wire it just catches and seems to move about 1/4 inch in and out.

2nd problem is with the glass opening, I thought the switch was gone as previous people have indicated but I replaced it last night and still nothing, it's looking like the loom might be at fault but just wondering if there are any other suggestions? does naybody know if there is another way to open the glass (the keys are not programmed for that and with the glass not opening so I can't programme the keys) Sad

Many thanks,
Ronan 06 RRsport HSE

tailgate

Hi Try1ng, dont know if it may help but if one part of the tailgate is open (in your case the main part) then the other button (the glass button) is disabled. Could it be that as the main part is loose then your upper tailgate button is disabled. My main tailgate only needs to be shut gently and then it pulls itself in to the shut position. Maybe try pushing the tailgate shut manually and hold the pressure on it whilst trying the glass button to see if it releases. sorry but that is all i can suggest regards Rigsby. good luck MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys
