if he dont have the greens cheaper option is probs get some plasticote spray paint they have loads of matt colours and do all outdoors type colours as they get used in the states alot by there forces to spray weapons helemts ect so they have all the shades of olive green ect only the dead truely know peace,

Any of you shooters know of anything to ease the issue of an aching shoulder.

After 50 shots my shoulder is in agony, is there anything to mount on the butt, like a shock absorber, or is a padded shooting vest the best option?

Sorry you can get a recoil pad to help, or give it a few shoots and your shoulder will basically be able to absorb the
impact and the problem will disappear, as for your butt, well that is another problem  Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

I used to get a nice big bruise after just blasting away 100 or so clays (100 to 200 carts) but this got better as time went on

I think it can be down to mounting the gun, but I also got a pad in my shooting vest to spread the impact

Saying that the last few times i have just worn a jacket with no padding and had just a a slightly stiff shoulder

So I have just ordered a decent recoil pad fitted for £45 and see how I go with that for now.

Only managed to squeeze in 3 sessions......apart from the sore shoulder it's going great, really enjoy it........

Now it's May they open til 8pm on a Wednesday so may squeeze some evening sessions in.

We should organise this RRS shooting day we have been talking about

late evening will mean i can shoot a few more, haven't been for a while with having weekends away or the rain

considering buying a Air Rifle to do some target shooting and once I've mastered the art of shooting, wind and everything else look for a permission to cap a few bunnies for the pot

@Jonny Fresh Sorting out your gun mount will sort most of the ache. A recoil pad will still help on the occasions that you get the mount wrong though.

Cartridges can have an effect. I usually use 100 bangs in a session but have some cartridges that hurt like hell after only half a dozen. Same load but different manufacturer. Go figure. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Yeah I've been reading that cartridges have a big impact............I will ask for some that will still smash clays, but go easy on the shoulder next time I buy a thousand.
