Wheel spacers...??

Just seen these advertised by Terrafirma:

http://www.terrafirma4x4.com/search_result...g=c3BvcnQ=

Apparently these offer:

Quote:
The opportunity to fit larger tyres due to the increased steering lock is a bonus not to mention the improved 'stocky, planted' look to the vehicle

Anyone ever fitted these before? Just wondering what they look like with standard wheels fitted! - Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE G4 Challenge vehicle (FOR SALE)
- BMW 330Ci M-Sport coupe
- Suzuki GSX-R750 K6 'Stealth' - trackdays and high speed tourer

30mm Spacers = Increased pressure on bearings
Suspension geometry change (camber and 4 wheel allignment needed)
Classed as a modification, so insurance needs to know
Arches would need to be extended (Kahn bodylit etc) to remain legal. RRS gone

not for 30mm i wouldnt have thought, the wheels sit pretty far in at the moment , providing they arenta crazy offset wheel or mega wide id say 30mm would be legal.

Ive used spacers on various cars and never had an issue in regards ware on bearings, bushes etc. Also i wouldnt worry too much about wheels scrubbing they do that as std anyway Laughing

I had 25mm spacers put on my Subaru, and pre camber/tracking adjustment the bump steer was terrifying Laughing RRS gone

Ran 40mm spacers on my C2 with Air Suspension for 3 years with no issues what so ever!

Also had them on the E60 & Q7 to sit the wheel further out and get it looking a bit nicer Thumbs Up LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch.

bang on - a really poor engineering solution. Fit the correct wheels or do the maths 1st.

Lots of people on the dub scene put spacers on and have no problems.
They do give a much better looking stance Very Happy

As I said, I used them on my STI to get the "look" I was after... but suspension geometry was compromised (well on the Subaru anyway) with a full camber adjustment needed because it became quite unstable with but-clenching bump steer at speed
