RRS extended warranty

Hi Guys

My RRS is now three years old and out of it's Land Rover warranty period Big Cry . Reading some of the posts in the forum i get the feeling that i really should buy an extended warranty, can anybody point me in the direction of a trusted / reliable company. I've never felt the need to buy one for any other vehicle i've owned but i think that may be a mistake with my Sport.

Your thoughts either way about extended warranties would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Andrew

My LR Approved Warranty is due to expire shortly as well. From what I've seen on here, Warranty Direct and Warranty Wise seem like good options.

I'd be interested in peoples thoughts comparing them to the LR Approved Very Happy

Not meaning to be funny, but if you do a search on here (type +extended +warranty into search) it'll bring up a whole host of threads on this subject. Thumbs Up

I'd take a good read through them, as some seem to have had good dealings with firms, others won't touch the same firm. Seems a bit of a lottery. From memory, Land Rover and Warranty Direct are two names that always crop up, as I say, not everyone has had good experiences though.

Being a recent LR owner I've not had to look at extended warranty's yet, but its not stopped me keeping an eye out Smile ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Cheers Beancounter

I've never got the hang of search facility, i'll give it a go with your search words.

If people don't like extended warranties or they are a pain when you make a claim, do they risk it and hope for the best?? is it worth the risk??

Regards

Personally I think you'd be mad to go it alone without a warranty from what I've seen.
Anything from small mechanical to full engine failures have been witnessed on here, so unless you have deep pockets and are willing to 'throw money' at your car, I'd say a warranty is the only way.

As to which one, I honestly couldn't guide you. My current plan is to have mine for 3 years, then move into another new one......yes, I'll never own it, as its on finance, but it allows me to change and not worry about the 'what if it goes wrong' side of things which seems to be a bigger issue than other marques I've had. Guys

Save your time and move on.

Just fathomed the search facility with Beancounters help and found 546 threads on the subject Embarassed . I will spend the rest of the week collating some information and call a few recommended companies.

If it was made clearer "how to search" i think a lot of duplicate threads would be avoided Wink , i think we need a "how to search" thread Thumbs Up .

If you have had a good experience with a particular company please let me know.

Regards Andrew

To be honest, I think the search on here is quite good, once you hit the search button, there is a fair amount of info to help throw up different word strings etc.

The other option is to search in google and put site:www.rrsport.co.uk after the words you want to look for. It'll only return RRSport site threads then. Thumbs Up

Andrew get a quote off your L/R dealer and go from there. Thumbs Up I went the WD route but don't accept their first quote, tell them they need to come up with a better price and tell them you are shopping around, only take out their top notch warranty with all additions if you decide to go with WD but it doesn't come with roadside assistance where as the L/R product does Wink They all have their good points but they also have their bad points too.
