United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
FS: 08 TDV8 RRS

Afternoon all,

Due to the arrival of our first child I am selling my 2008 TDV8 HSE in Java Black with Ivory Interior and silver trim. It’s too tall for SWMBO to put the baby in comfortably so will be replacing for a BMW 330d. Big Cry

The car has done just under 62,000 miles and just had done the 4yr 60,000 mile service at Lancaster LR Thatcham.

Good points:
RRSport.co.uk Sticker!
All usual HSE extras - TV, Fridge, Satnav, ACC, Adaptive lighting, Parking sensors, heated electric seats.
Just had front discs and pads changed.
Fitted Side steps last year
Fitted MY2010 Rear LED lights from Bell Autos – Would consider selling separately as I still have the originals.
Fitted colour coded door handles
Replaced all interior and side light bulbs with white LEDs (still have original bulbs if white is not to your taste but I think it looks cleaner with the LEDs)
Definitely the best car I have ever had the pleasure to own. Subjective but true.
4 x General Grabber UHP tyres with approx 4-5mm tread left – These are great tyres and by far the best I’ve had on the car.
Transferable WD Luxury Care Warranty until 12/06/12 (£50 transfer fee that I would pay. It’s not a great deal of warranty but would allow the new owner to have 1 month warranty and WD would continue the wear and tear policy without needing another 90 day period if the new owner wished to continue the policy.)

Work done since owned:
Had front Suspension bushes & ARB links replaced.
Had drivers door lock mechanism replaced when it broke.
Had EGR cooler & Thermostat replaced as coolant was leaking into EGR system.

Bad Points:
Scratch to O/S/R Wheel arch.
Light wear and discolouration to drivers seat bolster where jeans have worn against ivory leather.
Finger nail scratch to rear seat pad.
All Alloys have some kerbing but nothing a quick refurb wouldn’t rectify.

Original photos from when I just got it home

After fitting side steps

New 2010 LED rear lights - would consider seperate sell.

Car will also be advertised on Autotrader and Pistonheads.

Looking for £27,500 ono

Thanks for looking, I’ll add some more recent photos as soon as this rain stops.

Any questions or interest call Chris on 07545539879 or PM me on hear.

Site donation if sold through RRSport.co.uk

Agree it's tough for the ladies to lift baby+babyseat high enough to get them in and out (even with an isofix base) but once they are mobile (18 months plus) it's way easier to get sproglets in and belted up then bent double trying to get them in a standard car Thumbs Up

See you in 18 months Whistle RRS gone

As the very recent father of twins, I fully understand your predicament but agree with awdman. We considered swapping her Juke (I know, I know) for a 3 series but it started to hurt her back bending down to pick them up and out, rather than just across and out with the Sport. The ideal answer is some hideously dull or ugly MPV or Crossover (want to buy a Juke?!) where the seat height is inbetween, but that is just giving up on life.

Put it to her this way, would she prefer toned arms from lifting your child into a higher car, or a bad back that will render her with a hunchback?!?!?

Oh, and congratulations on your new arrival!!! Thumbs Up

On the road, for sure Jonny they are fantastic, but the logistics of getting them in and out of the car can be made awkward with higher up cars.
At the time my son was that age we had FREEL1 and although a great car at the time, it was a pain in the rear lifting him in/out. Ended up selling for a E60 5 Series......and then obviously returning the LR fold later Smile ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Awd man - in hindsight I agree, we probably should have kept it, but Mrs BC is (like most women) vertically challenged and lifting the whole car seat kaboodle in out multiple times a day would have resulted in major bleeting, so I decided I could do without that Laughing ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Thanks guys for all the comments but I'm with Beancounter on this - it's just not worth the bleeting.

Wifey is only 5'3" and she struggles with lifting things that high. I'm properly gutted at having to get rid of the RRS but also realise that it's the sensible thing to do. I'll hopefully come back to the fold with a brand new MY14 in the future.......

I also point blank refuse to buy an MPV or crossover so it'll be a 330d or 530d I think.

PS: anyone wanting to buy my RRS Whistle

FWIW - I think you should listen to the experienced parents here...

You'll regret it.

With isofix bases the sport is easy to get babies in and out of, I've also done it with twins for twenty three months now.

It's a massive comfort knowing your family is travelling in 2.7 tonnes of vehicle, and that it's probably one of the safest on the road.
