England 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey
Damaged Caravan.

I know they aren't everybody's cup of tea on this site but could do with some advice.

Bought brand new Swift twin axle conquerer 645 Nov 2010, first service carried out Nov 2011 damp found on inside front panel, Cause found to be cracked external panel in two places. Swift agreed to replace front panel but couldn't do it until March 2012 and would only pick up from dealer! 3 hr round trip for us but at least it was getting sorted. They took 4 weeks to replace the front end and re deliver back to dealer so one bank Holliday missed Censored Picked van up on Sat they didn't even have the decency to give it a clean before returning it,
They supplied a list of the work that was carried out while in there w/ shops. What jumped out at me was the statement repair and paint rear offside of wheelarch Shocked funny as there was nowt wrong with the bloody back end. Gave the van a good wash and low and behold you can see where it's had a flash of spray paint and a crease in the side panel approx 7" long 1" high. Something's obviously happened while they've had the van the panels underneath have also been replaced.
I've spoken to there customer care department who have said they will liaise with the repair manager but no return call yet !
What are my legal rights in terms of demanding a new van as it has already leaked in and now has a damaged side panel which as I'm led to believe these cannot be repaired.
Sorry for the long post but any advice will be welcome Thumbs Up Big Cry Now gone Orkney grey SDV6 HSE with body style kit contrast stitch ebony leather, privacy, black piano, 22" Lowenharts for summer, 20" with Leon LTZ for winter.

Doesn't matter if its a caravan, car, or tricycle, at the end of the day they done damage, repaired it and not had the common courtesy to tell you.
A new caravan I'd say is out of the question, but I'd be pushing for decent compensation, or a decent trade up, either way, something in YOUR favour Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black

The normal requirement would be to put you back where you were before the accident so agree,it should either be repaired blemish free or if that isn't possible I would ask for a trade in with the undamaged value of yours given in part ex. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

I assume you have a report of the condition the caravan was dropped off in?

My dealer used to go over every van with a fine tooth comb when i dropped it off for servicing, safe guards you as well as them

Thanks for the replys

I am a member on the swift talk forum , but got no joy with the two reps on there when I had the model before which started falling to bits after a 3 week stint in France.

The lady on customer care has phoned and said they will put right any damage they have caused when it is convenient for us still not sure if that's an admission of fault Question It's at least a 3.5 hr drive over to swifts own w shops so don't fancy driving all the way for them to turn around and say we ain't done that!

N Pinks I only wish they had given me a report as the van was with the dealer for work to be done before getting shipped over to east Yorkshire.

I have asked how they would be able to make good without using filler etc? I await ther reply.

I can't believe the quality of these vans for the amount you have to shell out Twisted Evil Think I'll go down the German engineered route next time hopefully won't drop to bits within a year of ownership. Now gone Orkney grey SDV6 HSE with body style kit contrast stitch ebony leather, privacy, black piano, 22" Lowenharts for summer, 20" with Leon LTZ for winter.
