Australia 2005 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Tangiers Orange

Being perfectly honest, if they can get the cruise to work without the active bit, I'd be over the moon. The ACC is a royal pain in the arse IMO, it's far too sensitive.

Having had the front bumper off mine, the winch doesn't interfere with the bracket (on mine anyway) so I still think the dealer is having a laugh but hey, so be it. Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Subtle shade of orange ! Now registered YZE481 G4RRS in Melbourne.

I don't suppose you have any images of the bracket, or can describe how the winch might affect it?

I doubt they will get it working without the active bit, but we'll see - if they can I'll be happy! - Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE G4 Challenge vehicle (FOR SALE)

This is mine. The ACC unit is the 6"x2" rectangular silver box to the right of the winch cradle. The photo's a bit misleading though, makes it look like the unit's pointing toward the winch but it isn't, it's to the side of it pointing straight out front. Certainly on my car it doesn't pick up the winch when I use the cruise control.

Hope that helps. Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Subtle shade of orange ! Now registered YZE481 G4RRS in Melbourne.

Hi mike

I've had a g4 rrs bv55yzd on mine the acc never worked & was a £2k cost to get it to work as it had been disconnected by lr & on mine the radar box was Censored as full of mud etc.

I did buy a s/hand radar bit from a breaker but never got round to fitting before I sold her.

I also used her off road with mtr Tyres unbelievable performance but wrecked two alternators with muddy water !

One thing you need to be prepared for is the tango stare from everyone you drive past especially if liveried as well

Hey pjb, did yours have the ACC module fitted then? Or was it missing that as well as the radar?

Do you still have the radar and mounting bracket as I might be interested in them if u do!

Cheers,

OK, cheers Paul!!

Orange colour aside, how did you find the G4 as a vehicle? Was the 4.4 V8 a good engine? Reasonable economy for its size/performance?

Hi Mike,

Aprt from thirsty it was excellent so much so that I'm looking to get a petrol again possibly a supercharged one as I now have a job with company car, just bought my wife an Aygo Go, so now have lower private mileage and con offset 18mpg with Linda's 65 mpg in our private mileage.

I wish I had kept it I love the G4 colour, but SWMBO does not & the only condition about getting another one was not orange !!

Post pictures when you get it.

I'll put a few of mine in my gallery it was used for the promotional pictures of the sadlt cancelled event Paul

YZD was traded to a dealer last year and as far as I'm aware, has never been sold on. Last I saw the dealer wanted near on £25k for it. I used to lodge about 5 miles away from the previous owner, met up with him a couple of times. Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Subtle shade of orange ! Now registered YZE481 G4RRS in Melbourne.
