I've now had my front bumper and now today my rear bumper properly gouged in the last two weeks while parked.....

For all the beauty of living here..... they really have NO respect for other peoples or their own cars..... and drive them like they are in a stock car derby...

Bearing in mind the bumpers are composite (ie not going to rust) does anyone know if I still have to get them re sprayed at an official dealer or will I invalidate my bodywork or any of the warranty if I go to a local independent ???.....

My thoughts would be......how can they tell who did the job
At the end of the day, so many cars are 'touched up' before delivery, even before dealers have sight of them, so I would be inclined to say take it to a paint shop that you are confident will do a good job.

When I had my Audi hit (6 days into ownership and not my fault I hasten to add), I took it back to the dealer for the insurance work, they then pointed me towards an independent paint shop who they use for all their bodywork.  ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Any reputable bodyshop that is carrying out your repairs will or should give you a warranty ie 1-3 years but just check this when going for a quote.
