Dynamic mode stiffens up the shock absorbers thereby giving a firmer ride but with less body roll and pitch - great for twisty A roads. However for the vast majority of driving it just makes the ride stiffer and also locks out cruise control which can't be engaged when the suspension is in Dynamic mode. Therefore I would say Normal is the best generic setting for 80% plus of driving. |

Thanks for the reply. Not sure if there is something up with mine but adaptive cruise works fine for me with dynamic! I'll experiment some more - on the motorway i didnt notice the difference between dynamic and normal! Mine's the same mate, cruise control won't work when its in dynamic. It might be different for the 5.0 S/C. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award 2010 TDV8 HSE Galway Green - Adaptive Cruise - Sunroof - Privacy Glass - 5 Spoke Alloys 2009 TDV6 3.0 HSE Buckingham Blue - GONE |

Noticed today mine doesn't switch back to normal, it seems to stay in dynamic even after the car has been left sitting locked up all day. Not sure if that is another difference between the TDV8 and Supercharged. I just wished the Cruise Control worked in dynamic so I could leave it in that mode more. In Dynamic mode the car really does become unfeasebly easy to push through the twisty bits. My wife has been quite unnerved at times, but I think that is more to do with the lack of lateral support in the seats compared to our previous M5 with the adaptive bolsters. I am still gaining more confidence every time I try it out and really impressed. As you say though, just a shame the adaptive cruise control doesn't work, as the A308 is a nice road to have the 2 working together, along with numerous others I'm sure. |

For those with this option what are the noticeable main characteristics & how are people finding it?

I have a 2011 S/C, Dynamic mode doesn't affect my cruise control. I use General for everyday driving, but Dynamic mode is just fun, instant acceleration. |

Can't say I've tried dynamic mode and cruise at the same time, especially as I don't use cruise that much anyway, but I must say that I love the way the handling characteristics improve when dynamic is selected for driving twisty routes |

I've got a 2010 TDV8 with Dynamic response. Doesn't seem to make any difference. There was a post some time ago that had LR info apparently on TDV8 there is no change to engine/transmission, only suspension. Whereas on the SC throttle response etc is also altered. Apparently. Seems a bit hit and miss SWMBO owns this car I get to drive occasionally |
