Segway i2

Anyone got one of these or has experience with them? Just playing with a thought of getting one and therefore looking for opinions...

They are illegal in the UK, ok for private land, not sure where your from, so could be ok, lots of Europe have let them be used.

slight error in that post, they are not illegal in the uk, just illegal to use on public highways, a mate of mine has one for wizzing round in the trafford centre late at night when everybody else has gone home

Strange - why would you restrict their use? Well anyway no restriction for use over here - I'm currently based in Czech... Apart from being rather pricy they seem to be stunning for bashing around the town.

It's due to them being considered powered vehicles under the relevant U.K. legislation, so are illegal to use on the pavement, and as they fail to meet the safety standards for road use, it's private land only (as previously noted). If you must roll with no effort on the pavement, it's mobility scooter/electric wheelchair only. Otherwise, assisted bicycles on the highways here.

The inventor of the hesco bastion system used by the army used his Segway, sadly too close to a cliff edge not so long ago

I've seen them up at clumber park, looks great fun offroading
