2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Sumatra Black

removing body shell / engine change

Hi a week ago my tdv6 engine seized up due to oil pump fail I've sourced another engine. Ive been told to fit it you will need to remove the body shell?

Is this true?

Is this a must or can you just get away with removing just the front end?

Also is there any one that can give me a step by step guide on how to remove the body shell?

It is a must I'm afraid. Same for Discovery 3 and 4.

Supposed to not be that big a deal, had it done last year for second turbo replacement.

djbiz the cars are designed for this procedure, it's surprisingly straight forward. In fact Bobby might be along in a second with the exact procedure

After the above procedure you just take it carefully around the first roundabout just in case they forgot the bolt it all together.

Saw this and though someone had taken detailing to the next level, that said it would be tempting to get in there and get cleaning

Sorry djbigz, I believe I'm the Bobby being referred to.

The procedure is not that simple and there's alot of disconnecting and connecting to be done.
Until and unless you're capable and you have access to a 2-post ramp, its advisable to leave this job to the professionals. Malaysia Boleh!

It was tempting but they couldn't move the lower section so they would join easily. Half the Sahara in there, plus wide variety of muds.
