How much do stealers make on a sale??

I have today been contacted by a well known LR dealer about some new used stocks they have. I bought a D3 from them about 3 years ago and got a good deal and trade in.
However today they offered me a stupidly low price for my RRS against a 42k D4. Just looked on their website they have a RRS for sale the same spec and year as mine and they have it up for 7k more than they offered me for mine.

Is this the norm for a dealership to make 7k on a second hand 08 RRS 2017 Range Rover Sport Autobiography

They don't make £7k once they have paid out for warranty, VAT and everything else thy need put put right to sell it on
