It's a known fault on the RRS. I'd get your local dealer on the phone ASAP before the AA monkey butchers anything and ask them if his solution is required. Either way your car is going to end up at the dealer for repair! So I would check before letting the AA guy potentialy add to your repair bill!! 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Thanks guys. Quality info as always. He's managed to get it released without the butchering bit. He seems to think the cables may be frayed inside the actuator but i read on here that the more likely cause would be dirt build up jamming the pads. Also is there likely to be damage to the components inside the actuator??? (Been doing the screeching noise when attempting to release the brake) Cheers

Glad he didn't have to butcher the cables Mick.
It is possible that if you have tried to drive away and the EPB was on
it may have shattered the brake disks (it's designed to do this as a safety
feature). I'd get it checked out at your dealer or whoever does your
servicing just to be on the safe side. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Update. Local mech stripped the rear discs off on Friday. Nothing seized in there but massive wear to drum. at least 3mm worn suggests that shoes have not retracted properly for some time. Tried the EPB again and still sreeching so they're taking the module off today. Anyone know whether the insides are servicable or are we talking about a new unit??? If so, any idea on cost?? Thanks as always for any input guys... Thumbs Up
