2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

firstinretail this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ShJZnH3flQ...ata_player sounds/looks almost exactly like your experience? one of the comments was:

"He's put the terrain response system into sand mode. That disengages the traction control and would make all four wheels spin like this. In mud or snow mode it would drive straight out even on road tyres as the abs and tc would stop the wheel spin and send power to the other wheels. I am an advanced offroad driver for Landrover and do press work and driver demonstrations all over the world so know the capabilities of these vehicles."

did you do that? Whistle ============

Wet shiny grass is the nemisis of any off-roader, even the most extreme. I have been to a number of events where the real challenge was getting out of the car park, the off-road course was easy by comparision (and this is not in an RRS, this is in a fully modified 4x4) 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

I went to a horse show many moons ago and we all parked in a field that was semi-saturated from overnight rainfall...

Anyway the heavens opened all day..and by the time it came to leave the field had turned into a bog.... with the top 10" just like moose, and the next layer down a nice sloppy slippery clay which was like ice...

Nothing got out

Defenders, disco's, shoguns..nothing..

Cost us all £5 to get towed out by a team of enterprising farmers in the biggest tractors I've ever seen.

PS I was in a Cavalier at the time so didn't even try to escape Laughing

The highlight was a Defender 90 coming flat out (in 1st) across the field... everyone cheering... then he made the fatal mistake of going for 2nd.... then he stoppped Mr. Green and was as stuck as the rest of us. Laughing RRS gone

@awd

SWMBO went to a horse show at Stoneleigh several years ago in the Mk4 Golf GT TDI 150 I had at the time. She came back and sheepishly asked if I minded her putting the car through a car wash. It was brown with mud up to the windows! Had been pulled out by a chap with a tractor because the field that was used as car parking had got so wet during the day. Apparently the tractor man was pulling all sorts out including 4x4. Indeed, the previous year had been similar and I'd watched Discos etc. getting stuck then too.

The Golf, on Goodyear F1 GSD3 tyres, was crap on grass, mud or snow. Great on tarmac, especially wet tarmac, however. A real lesson in how the wrong tyres can make such a difference.

Oh, and I suggested a hose pipe to wash off the mud. Imagine the scratches after all of that gritty mud got in the car wash brushes! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Ive had my RRS nearly six years now from new and had many RR's and LR's before that and I regularly off road, the only time I have ever got stuck in the RRS was when we went to Billing in 2006 and had only just gone through the off road course gate when we got stuck, she kept losing power as I tried to get up the hill until the TR came up and told me all systems had been disengaged and shut down, at this point the RRS decided she would climb the hill on her own on tick over as I had given up and taken my foot off the brake, you can imagine the embarrassment watching all manner of LR's not having a problem, but was told later by my dealer I should have read the manual and switched the DSC off as the car thought I was in a spin (YAW Control) and cut the power!

"you forgot to turn DSC off and that's why you got stuck"

first thing i turned off clever dick. Whistle

fact is road tyres in thick mud are usless, therfore your run of the mill all singing all dancing off roader isnt really going to cut it in them there conditions. its all about the tyres.

those standard 20" wheels with low profile standard 20" rubber are AWFUL off-road I'm not surprised 6" of mud stopped you.
