New to the fold and have a question.

Current car is coming up for change and looked at ordering a new MY2012 A/B SDV6. I will be looking to order within the next couple of months and dealer has said a build time of approx. 3 months. Is it worth waiting for MY2013 as I'm not sure when the MY's change.

If you are thinking of ordering in a couple of months ie May ...for Aug delivery then you really are getting close to the date LR usually release the new MY for RRS... although to the best of my knowledge no details whatsoever have been released or leaked....

The timing for my MY12 order was.... end of June order......early Nov car was delivered (French spec) but the first cars started arriving I think early October.....

So assume you order beginning June... car del is beginning Sep...... I would say imo .... you have to wait .
Or when you place your order early insist on a my13 ask your dealers advice and hopefully get one of the first off the production line....
My UK dealer was able to give me the MY12 spec and extras list hot off the press... in June when I ordered mine...

Thanks for the info, I know from the past when I order a Porsche that they started to build the new MY in September.

My main concern is if I order a MY2012 A/B SDV6 now and then they release it with the 4.4V8 Diesel for MY13 I would be gutted. I have spoken to my dealer asking about the 4.4 but they have no information and they are really helpful at the dealer. I suppose we are down to that old question about whether or not they are going to fit this engine, drove a Vogue SE with it fitted and it is a cracker.

It's the question we all want to know... and we'd all like the answer to be yes
I spoke to a Jag dealer and RR dealer and they are both quite sure it's not on the cards as the trend is to downsize engines and reduce emissions....but that wouldn't be the first time they have got it wrong.....
So.... I'd definitely wait.... for the sake of a month or two extra to be sure and also yr resale on a 13 will be better...

As I am led to believe, 4.4 TDV8 unfortunately doesn't fit without major bulkhead/firewall amendments, therefore we can't see any prospect of it in the current bodystyle. I think if LR could engineer it and wanted to, then it we would have seen it from 11my. I'm not entirely sure if big displacement engines will be the future due to emissions targets, therefore we expect the 'next technology' will be smaller displacement units with bigger efficiency and the latest turbo technology to maximise power/torque.

As mentioned above by the OP, most MY changes take place for the September market, however we do not have an news of any changes at this stage being six months away.

As always, as soon as I have anything official that is not under embargo then you will be the first to know!
