Thanks Ady, it seems it is a choice between chance it or WD/AA Warranty! More research required. I am keen to find out who has had what work done under these policies. Any one else have any input? |

when i bought my rrs back in oct i phoned aa and joined.guy on phone talked me into having there "breakdown repair warranty" as well, only was paying £11.33 a month.about 4 weeks into owning my rrs one of my egr valves went and aa picked up the bill£400 minus £35 excess, and then about 3 weeks later the other egr valve went and again they picked up bill.! only paid them at this stage £11.33.! and they paid out over £700.! you must allways call the aa patrol out first when you have a problem, the secound aa guy that came out to me told me that there cover is great and even picks up bill for new batteries.! only downside is that you can only claim 5 times a year upto £500 a time, but im hopeing this should be more than enough.! |

Thanks, positive stuff so far for AA. WD does get some bad PR, but then as is the norm only the bad bits get talked about on forums etc. I'll price both up today and make a decision. Favouring towards AA already. Ref egr, luckily mine has just had those done, the big jobs for me are discs and pads and a 105k+cam belt service..... Feeling the pain already. |

Also bare in mind, if your gearbox or engine goes hopefully it won't you will ony get £465 towards the repair bill with the AA, where as if you are with WD they will pay the full amount minus £50 excess and depending on which cover you take out it can all be repaired at a land rover garage. Its worth thinking about. |

personally I'd always go with the official LR extension. Yes it is outsourced/underwritten by some other company but the "brand leverage" you get is undeniable.

Hi, please anyone out there do not go with Warranty Direct. I had a suspension issue that was investigated by Taggerts Glasgow. They supplied report to WD and then I spent the following 9 days fighting between WD and Taggerts trying to get the car fixed. To cut a long story short WD are a complete joke, and please please do not use them.

Cubbyno9, sorry to here you have had a bad time with WD, to be honest, part of the reason why I went for the cheaper AA deal was because I believe that all of these firms will try all they can to mitigate their cost on presentation of a claim... For me, i just want cover for the main stuff, i am happy to take on the wear and tear and other stuff, my mechanic will work on my car for £100 a day, I supply parts so I get a good deal. If you read into the Tandc's, they tare stacked with great areas...... Anyone else had any other good/bad warranty experiences? I am sure we'd all love to here about them to help us form our own opinions,
