Are you sure yours has a DPF? Not many UK spec TDV8's have, but most in mainland europe do have DPF. PM me your chassis number, and I'll check if yours has a DPF. If it does, its easy to remove. A UK spec 55 plate TDv6 will not have a DPF, even if it was a European personal import. IIRC the first RRS's to get DPF's as standard in the UK were 2010MY cars.

I am still not aware of anything regarding the UK MOT test, that requires the presence of a diesel catalyst, neither currently or pending. That's not to say that things will not change in future though.
