2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

When you test drive it try to engage the low ratio gearbox (put it in neutral then select low) any hesitation to engage means a neglected car as the transfer mechanism will be seized due to not following LR's instructions in the manual. Even if you never intend to use the low ratio box it should be operated to keep all the moving bits free otherwise £££££££'s to fix and much value lost when you come to sell it on.
Also if you can get it on a ramp (never try this using the suspension on off road height) get under the car and check for off road use damage. These cars are fantastic off road and a lot more of them go into the mud and rocks than you would imagine.
I would also back up what was mentioned above and steer clear of any car being sold on non LR rims, even then you have to check for fakes, these are heavy cars and can damage alloys easily, non standard / cheap copies wheels are not always up to the job of keeping 2.8tonnes running safely 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I'm getting stick off people now, saying the sport is for drug dealers and footballers....also I will get stuck in a puddle apparently!

Sports are good off roadarent they?

Its kind of put me off a bit. Should I go for a full fat range Rover instead?

Paul.

Rolling with laughter

It's just jealousy Thumbs Up

The sport is more than capable off road (same chassis, running gear, 4x4 system, wheel base & clearance as the Discovery, and you'll not get anyone questioning that car's credibility off road) RRS gone

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Arctic Frost

Hi Paul,

I bought a 2005 RRS TDV6 last year. High miles but I had it checked over before I bought and like you read this forum inside out and back to front, indeed having spoken to the guy who inspected it I think he learnt more from me than I him!

You do need to use a fine tooth comb to check EVERYTHING but there are a lot out there and lots of people look after them well.

I agree (totally) with all the advice on the site and whether you think the "image" is for you is your choice but they are superb cars. I can't comment upon the economy of the 4.2SC but life is for living is all I'll say.

Plenty of aftermarket quality add ons that make it look high end too.

Good luck 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE in Artic Frost. 20" 2010 HST Alloys, sidesteps, Hawke tips, plus minor bits and bobs along with a remap. Four spike spiders ready for the Alps again now tucked up in their garage boxes...

Shocked , rrsboy, I'd say you have your foot planted too heavily on your V8 loud pedal if you think that Whistle . Gently does it off road, and the RRS is up there with the best of them I'd say Wink Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

For me, always liked the shape of the RRS, ever since it was launched at it was an itch that needed scratching.

I do like FFRR's, but they just weren't on my agenda when I was looking. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
