Just an interesting story really

A couple of months ago i get a quite desperate call from the someone asking for my help.

Bear in mind that only about 5 people in the world know my private mobile phone number.

It seems he has had a sport in with a no audio problem and his IDS is showing the vehicle is a mis mash of 2 Vins.

His support service has him change 3K's worth of bits to get all Vins the same, but now the vehicle won't start, but the audio is fine. I tell him what to do to get the vehicle starting, which works. but he is back to square one with no Audio. By now he has replaced the ABS module, the Park Brake module, the instrument pack and the EMS ECU

They then replace the Amp under the seat and the head unit, and re flash / code them up with no joy and all out of options and now 3 months down the line and having spent quite an amount of money on parts, and having a quite irate customer he calls me again even more desperate than ever.

I tell him to drop the vehicle off at our place and we will sort it for him.

We plugged in an MSV-2 and read the CCF, flipped down to the Infotainment settings and checked the Fitted amplifier type. It was set to Low Line spec, which means an Amp built into the head unit, not an external one as in under the seat as in High line spec

We corrected this to what it should be, based on what the vehicle physically had fitted and bingo, all was fine and working as it should.

I was really pleased to help him out as he is really one of the good guys and only ever asks my help when desperate.

Hence he has my number

If it is the same chap as on the Disco3 website...he's certainly helped fixed a few, including RRS!!!!!!!
